Sacrifice (2021– )

Surprisingly good show...

I came across this show on BET+ while trying to find a movie or series to watch. I wasn't sure what to expect but when I saw Paula Patton and Lamman Rucker was one of the main characters, I decided to watch. Got caught up after the first episode. Hoping there's a season 2 coming out soon because I have a feeling that the suspense is going to be real once I finish the final episode.

Sacrifice has so many twists and turns that you would miss out if you blink. The plot may seem all over the place at first but there's a motive or agenda behind everything and everyone which makes the show addictive. I've been binge watching it all week.

The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez (2020)

They should have put the mom on trial first!

This was so hard to watch. To see the graphic pictures of Gabriel's condition at the hospital was upsetting! All those visits to the house and no one saw this happening/coming???? WTF! That poor boy. I have so many questions...why was he taken from the uncles, why was he taken from the grandparents, who thought it was a good idea to remove him from 2 happy homes and give him to his blankety blank mother knowing the type of person she is?????

They should have put the mom on trial first so she could've gotten the death penalty! Then to make things worse, neither of them showed any emotions or remorse in the courtroom. SMDH. How is it that the people testifying got emotional but not them. I am appalled!

The only good that came out of this is Gab is at peace but, he shouldn't have had to die to get it.

Chronicle of a Serial Killer (2020)

This movie was not good

I decided to watch this movie only because DMX was in it. However, it was not good. Love DMX but everything else sucked from the story line to the acting. DMX only had a few small parts in the whole movie. Was a total waste of time to watch.

Most Dangerous Game (2020–2023)

The suspense had me on edge!

Didn't expect much from this show but once I started the first episode I couldn't stop. The suspense had me jumping out of my seat! At one point I didn't think my heart could take anymore. Lol. I wish that Quibi would've just combined all the episodes into one movie instead of having 15 episodes of 7 mins.

Da 5 Bloods (2020)

Terrible

This movie was horrible. Took me 24 hours to watch this 2.5 hour movie. I couldn't stay focused on this at all. It was super boring and all over the place. Not engaging or interesting like the classic Spike Lee movies. I finished watching it only because I already invested an hour into watching it.

Outer Banks (2020– )

Better than expected

I decided to watch this when I was running out of shows to watch. I really didn't expect much and was pleasantly surprised at how good it is. The storyline seemed off at first with teenage kids hanging around on a mission and not in school but I was hooked after the first episode. Bummer that season 2 won't be available until 2021.

I don't write many reviews about TV shows but, this one deserves it. I wasn't interested in watching this at first based on the description but I'm so glad I decided to give it a try. I was hooked after the first episode! The story line is dramatic and funny at the same time. It has no similarities to Grace & Frankie at all. I actually enjoy this show a lot more. I can't wait for Season 2 to come out in a couple of weeks!

Ozark (2017–2022)

This show is great. I couldn't stop watching after episode 1. The twist & turns that each episode takes kept me glued to the tv. There's some jaw dropping and humorous moments throughout season one. I'm so glad that Netflix is bringing this back for a second season on July 1st! I can't wait to see what's going to happens next!

Seven Seconds (2018)

Netflix needs to bring this show back!!

I didn't know what to expect with this show but, it was surprisingly great!! I don't understand why Netflix will not have a second season! How could they leave us hanging like this? There's so much more to the story line that is left unanswered. I binge watched the entire season in 2 days. After every episode, it was difficult not to continue to the next because I was anxious to see what was going to happen. I'm so disappointed in Netflix for cancelling this series.

Beyond the Lights (2014)

Surprisingly great movie...

I wasn't sure what to expect but, this was a really great movie. I've never heard of it before. I was searching for movies to watch that I haven't seen and came across this. I'm glad I decided to watch as I did enjoy it. The storyline was good and kept me intrigued to watch the entire movie. Definitely a must see.
