Controversial Spider Man
12 August 2023
After watching Lotus, I was reminded of the legendary film directed by Dan Poole - "The Green Goblin's Last Stand 1992" and was filled with feelings of nostalgia of the times when fans made their films and at the same time adhered to the dynamics and actions, fans and critics at one time criticized Dan Poole because he added very little dialogue to his Spider-Man films, and after watching Lotus, I understood why Dan did this ..

Film - "Spider-Man Lotus" namely the director Gavin J. Konop decided to show us a film built on drama and dialogue, and to show how Peter is worried about the death of Gwen Stacy, the film is really very stretched and tries with all its might to convey that gloomy atmosphere. There are a lot of flashbacks in the film, sometimes they are out of place, for example, we are shown a battle with the Green Goblin, then they cut off this scene, then they show it again and cut it off again ... there are also a lot of flashbacks about how sweet and funny the company of Peter, Harry was , Mary Jane and Gwen Stacy, like we should be imbued with their great friendship)

Computer graphics are decent for that I want to praise their team! Flights on the web are beautiful)

Music is nice

The acting is normal, the actress who played Mary Jane (Moriah Brooklyn) did a very decent job with the role.

The essence of the Lotus where he meets sick boy Tim Harrison (Maxwell Fox-Andrews) looks either hasty, but nice!

My result, the film came out non-standard and not much stretched, but given the deep message of the film and the little things that I outlined, perhaps I will forgive the mistakes, since many have put their souls into it and of course it is sad that the film got into that scandal and the "cancellation culture"

Bleach 2018 - Soul Live Action Anime Adaptation
2 August 2023
This Movie is directed by Shinsuke Sato, who has a decent amount of experience in making live-action anime adaptations.

I am a fan of Bleach in particular my favorite character Rukia Kuchiki and therefore I decided to express my opinion about this film.

Let's start with the fact that the film adapts the first arc of the manga - "Temporary Shinigami" and unfortunately the film could not reveal all the main characters (for example, Orihime Inoue or Yasutora Sado), we were shown them of course, but in a very truncated form in the style they are in the film , but we will not disclose them.

The main disadvantage of any anime adaptation in live action is that it is very difficult to show the full potential of the film in an hour and a half and you have to change a lot of things, change and cut down the original content and the plot from the manga, which then creates a feeling of understatement and the thought comes to mind, that you need to find deleted scenes or rewatch the anime or read the manga.

Personally, I liked the film, it has a lot of potential that unfortunately was not revealed, but it has a cool atmosphere and soul that I really liked!

1. Opinion on Adaptation characters:

Sôta Fukushi (Ichigo Kurosaki) - He coped very well with the role of Ichigo and in fact, in my opinion, this is a 100% excellent hit in the role, respect

Hana Sugisaki (Rukia Kuchiki) - She played my favorite character Rukia very cute)) I liked it, although I would still prefer to see the canon hairstyle from the manga)

Ryô Yoshizawa (Uryû Ishida), Erina Mano (Orihime Inoue), Yû Koyanagi (Yasutora Sado), Taichi Saotome (Renji Abarai) - As I said above, there is a list of main characters whose potential has not been revealed, for example, the character Uryû Ishida seems to have begun to be revealed, but in a very truncated form, Renji Abarai is great just as a feature (beautiful action scene)

Miyavi (Byakuya Kuchiki) - He was very poorly adapted as a character, in the original Byakuya poses himself as an emotionless aristocrat (any emotion he has is already a big event for an anime/manga) with a lot of fighting experience, and as a fan it was very embarrassing for me to see the he adaptation.

2. Computer graphics:

CGI graphics turned out very cool, hollow looks very intimidating and dark, action scenes are beautiful and decent, respect

3. Music:

It sounds harmonious, but forgettable, it was necessary to take the music from the anime series.

Verdict: The film turned out to be good, and it is pleasant to review it, of course, it has many shortcomings that ardent fans who are ready to find fault with any little thing may not like, but it does not matter, the film has a soul and potential for something much more.

She's the Sheriff (1987–1989)

Lost media TV Series
9 April 2023
I'm a fan of Suzanne Somers, I've watched all her projects: Series, Movies, Reality Shows and so on... and there is one project that I haven't seen! Namely the series - She's the Sheriff

I know that many people do not like it and treat it as critically as possible, but the fact that for all the time absolutely no one for the entire existence of social networks has not posted it in the public domain or video hosting of ANY EPISODE! Yes, I saw promotional videos for the series and one excerpt of terrible quality, but it's not enough + it's very strange!

I sincerely hope that someone will publish it.

It is a pity that the series has the status of Lost media.

The first Spider-Man in live action
6 April 2023
The first live-action Spider-Man movie! And this movie is amazing, the Steve Ditko era costume makes you feel good.) of course the movie looks dated, but it is so charming and inventive in terms of effects, that's why I like this TV series with Nicholas Hammond or fan-films - Dan Poole's , because in those days not it was CGI, they put their soul and potential with stuntmen, doing life-threatening stunts like stuntman Fred Waugh did in the TV Series, or they used practical effects, they have soul.

Out of the minus! I can point out that they didn't have to come up with an original villain, Dr. Lightning looks a lot like Doctor Doom! Literally looks like it! And his daughter could be Mary Jane, it's really strange to see two comic book characters being turned into a weird analog, father and daughter!

Spider-Man Strikes Back (1978 TV Movie)

Nicholas Hammond era
30 March 2023
This Movie is connected from two parts of the first and second episodes (The Deadly Dust) of the Spider-Man TV Show

To start with, David White, who played the character J. J. Jameson in the TV Pilot Spider Movie, was replaced by another actor, Robert F. Simon, as a great lure as he is a witty and more likable take on Jameson.

I will not spoil the plot, if you want to find and see for yourself! The highlight of this film is actress Joanna Cameron, she shines in every scene and I'm really sorry that she was taken only for an two episode.

Spider-Man himself, by modern standards, may seem tedious and slow, but he was made mundane and realistic, which is a plus for me personally, Nicholas Hammond is an excellent Peter Parker, of course, he is very different from the version of Toby, Garfield or the same Tom Holland, but in him there is a special attractive charisma.

The practical effects are very well done, and the moment when the Spider hooked onto the helicopter with the help of a web is a legendary scene, but unfortunately forgotten.

The last film of the Spider-Nicholas Hammond era
30 March 2023
Actually a great detective superhero film about the Spider.

This film is glued together from episodes 7 and 8 of season 2 of the well-known Spider-Man TV show, these two episodes are connected for international and European cinemas.

I like the Chinese vibe of Hong Kong and all the aesthetics of Kung Fu and stuff like that.

The film has great dialogue and great stunts with action scenes, which I think did a great job of ending the Hammond era on a great note.

I want to note the fact that in 1984/85 a crossover with the Incredible Hulk and Spider-Man with the then popular black suit was supposed to come out, but alas, it did not work out. Lol but then they made a crossover with Thor ... in general, we were broken off then.

Nice and true to the spirit of classic comics :)
17 March 2023
Fact that the film was not released (was filmed to keep the rights to F4) and was filmed for only $1.5 million should already be suggestive to those who write bad reviews of the B-movie.

To this day, there are 3 versions of F4, and oddly enough, the 1994 version is the more accurate and true to the comics version! Director Oley Sassone put everything he could with his budget into this project, and for this we should at least somehow appreciate him for the work done.

As for the film itself, it is pleasant to watch, of course, by today's standards, it looks naive and stupid and some of the visual effects are very outdated, but the story itself is very catchy! The cast is good - Rebecca Staab (Susan Storm) is very charismatic with a touch of pleasant romance and even better than Jessica Alba, although I admit Rebecca overacted in places)), Alex Hyde-White (Dr. Reed Richards) did an excellent job with his role, he looks confident and looks like a scientist, Michael Bailey Smith (Ben Grimm) did a very good job and looked cool in the makeup itself, Jay Underwood (Johnny Storm) I like his adaptation of the Human Torch although he plays very poorly in places, and finally Joseph Culp as Dr . Doom is the highlight of this film and every scene with him is very atmospheric!

As I already wrote, with a small budget it is difficult to make something big and large-scale and the effects are very outdated, but again, do not forget that the studio did not want to give them more money and did everything they could, but they gave us something that none of the versions gave , namely the spirit of classic COMICS!! Decoration! Scenery! Costumes! Even Ben Grim's make-up is very decent!

Unfortunately, there are disadvantages, namely, in some places, bad acting, I wrote about visual effects above, but I didn't like it so much that, due to copyright, they remake the Mole Man character into a cheap analogue of the Jeweler

Again, don't take this movie too seriously and give it a chance and you might even like it, but don't expect anything big.

Golden Boy (1995–1996)

Very weird anime ; )
7 March 2023
The story is about a young man named "Kintaro" who gets different jobs with beautiful girls (Each female character is unique and diverse which is probably a plus), after each story of the episode, one or another girl falls in love with him, but by this time he leaves on his bike without brakes.

There is a lot of adult and perverted content in the series, because of which many people may not like it, but in fact perversions are just an illusion and part of the subtext! Because the series is actually instructive and carries bright moments! The meaning of the series - Learn and explore the world and try yourself in something new and be friendly with everyone ..

The humor in the series is inventive and can make both girls and men laugh

The drawing is very detailed and of high quality, which is admirable!

If you like anime I highly recommend it!

The Amazing Spider-Man (1977–1979)
10/10
Detective Spider-Man
14 February 2023
To be honest, I do not understand those fans who criticize this show and give it - 1 point

You have to understand that adapting SPIDER-MAN, especially in the 70s era, is a very difficult task, it has a very laborious work on effects and tricks, you need to be a genius to do it very cool in the 70s I watched the ENTIRE Series, not just the Pilot as some fans did.

Of course, many will be put off by the fact that there are no Super Villains or main characters from comics like Mary Jane or Betty Brant, but the focus of the series has been shifted to an adult audience and more adult plots, the stories are more detective and more realistic, the emphasis is on his work. In the Daily Bugle, which is a plus for me personally! (My favorite episode of Photo Finish) I also like the character Julie Masters (Ellen Bry) as for me she is a very interesting original female character and very well played) Nicholas Hammond as Spider-Man is very harmonious and has his own charming charisma, the costume is also beautiful, Robert F. Simo embodied a very interesting version of J. Jonah Jameson, of course he is not as evil and aggressive as in the comics, but the adaptation is cute But the main highlight is the stuntman - Fred Waugh, if you watched the whole series, then almost all life-threatening stunts (especially in a closed suit) were performed personally by him, really! A person without CGI and other computer graphics does great stunts, this should delight people, and it makes me very sad that new generation fans are laughing at the effects, which, in my opinion, is a very underestimated fact.

My bottom line is, if you respect the old generation of shows and give a TV Series a chance, you'll love it.

P. S. Again, most of the dangerous stunts are done without CGI.

Spider-Man (2003)

Most underrated Spider-Man
16 January 2023
I know that this version was filmed against the backdrop of the hype movie - "Spider-Man" by Sam Raimi, but every time I watch it, it seems to me that the creators of the project made a mixture of the Ultimate Version and the Raimi Movie, which, in my opinion, is an interesting combination ...

This Spider-Man Animated Series gave us a special take on the comic book hero, for a more mature audience, showing us more adult and human dialogue between characters, a darker atmosphere, sexual overtones and of course innovative computer graphics for animated series in the style of Cel-shaded

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who was involved in this unique project, because this version of Spider-Man evokes a lot of different emotions.

As for the minuses - I personally was upset that they did not want to use the character of the Black Cat (Felicia Hardy) , but limited themselves to a cheap analogue, also a very strange move with the finale!

I didn't understand why to do so that Spider-Man decided to stop his activities, no, I really like the plot of the final series, it was emotional and strong, but if you make an animated series based on the film, then it's a very strange decision for me ..

And so I enjoyed watching! Thanks again to the creators of the project))

Great Indie Spider-Man
1 December 2022
Dan Poole has taken over the adaptation of the famous comic book Amazing Spider-Man #121 and #122 (The Night Gwen Stacy Died) which suggests that Dan has a taste for great stories.

Pros:
  • Atmosphere of the 90s and the spirit of the classic stories about the Spider
  • Tricks, they are magnificent! Dan Poole put his life on the line to make his dream come true - absolute respect! Many will say that the effects are obsolete like explosive bombs or the flight of the Goblin on the Glider, but as for me they are beautifully implemented, especially for an indie film + given the limited budget
  • Also, one of the highlights of the film is the acting of the actor James Kinstle (Norman Osborn) he was simply created for the role of the Green Goblin
Cons: Not enough dialogue, the conversation between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy was great, there should be more dialogue like this.

I recommend watching this movie, you will like it)

Atmosphere in the style of Spider-Man Todd MacFarlane 90s
1 December 2022
This film was posted on YouTube not long ago, and when I watched it, I was surprised and delighted with the work done, I even liked it more than the film "The Green Goblin's Last Stand" - Dan Poole is a genius, he knows how to give the film that very atmosphere of comics without all kinds of CGI, there are purely real tricks in the film, for which, again, many thanks to Dan! Those who love Spider-Man simply must watch this indie movie!

I also want to praise for the excellent adaptation of the characters of the Kingpin and Bullseye, but the highlight of the film is the dialogues between Peter and Mary Jane is straight wow! This is what the film "The Green Goblin's Last Stand" lacked, it needs more dialogue, it's always a big plus for the story! I also want to note that I really liked the actress Tonya Slater "Mary Jane" she did a very nice job!

I repeat, if you like Spider-Man, then you should definitely appreciate the work of Dan Poole!
