Game of Thrones: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (2019)
Really the last good GoT episode
Definitely the last good episode on the show. It's almost heartbreaking really.
Game of Thrones: The Bells (2019)
They messed up Cersei's story.
"When your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and CHOKE THE LIFE FROM YOU."
She was supposed to be choked by Jaime. He was supposed to be the Kingslayer one more time. They foreshadowed this in the finale of both season 6 and 7. I was looking forward to this particular scene since I watched the show, which is a long time ago.
But for some reason D&D decided to mess up with the prophecy and remove the choking part and make it a romantic death instead, effectively retconning the prophecy, ruining Cersei's entire arc, and dumping Jaime's character development into the trash. That's what happens when you change one very simple thing.
Three stars because of the amazing director and Lena's and Peter's performances.
Game of Thrones: The Last of the Starks (2019)
Don't hate this episode because of the previous one.
People are rating this episode 1/10 are still mad because of episode 3. Don't get me wrong, I HATED episode 3 (rated it 4/10 because of the direction and music), but this episode is fantastic. It definitely feels like a GoT episode. Best one in the season so far.
Oh and Lena better get the Emmy this time!
Game of Thrones: The Long Night (2019)
Great direction, production, and music, but HORRIBLE storytelling.
I won't deny the incredible work of Miguel Sapochnik, Ramin Djawadi, and the production staff because they all helped make an episode that's quite enjoyable to watch.
However, D&D failed horribly. The story was beyond horrible. They threw away 8 seasons of build up, and they retconned Melisandre's speech for Arya back in season 3, which is something I used to really love. It's funny how the very last minutes of this episode can not only ruin the season, but also ruin all the previous seasons. They're gonna be a pain when rewatching them because you know the story ends up horribly.
