I may not be Pakistani or Muslim, but I was a religious nerdy teenager so I find a lot of Kamala's story very relatable. Its so fun to see her geek out with Bruno about the Avengers and get excited over going to a convention to cosplay. I love the fun, quirky edits that add to each scene, I love the dynamics that have already been quickly established among Kamala's family and friends, and it's really cool to see Muslim and Arab culture and language so casually weaved into her life.
I have seen some Muslims criticize the way the hijabs are worn and I'm a little confused by them too, and I'm a bit apprehensive of the way some aspects of Kamala's culture and religion are portrayed, but from my stand point as a white, non-muslim, viewer who absolutely adores the Ms. Marvel comic book runs -- its' a great adaptation and deserves glowing reviews!
