Looking for meaning beyond the necessity of survival.
7 June 2016
Fine short film with international connotations. The intrinsic conceptual honesty of "water" as the metaphor stands out. California is indeed experiencing an apocalypse--albeit in slow motion so the idea works well on many levels. The "water from Canada" is believable due to the melt...where else can the water go?

Water as the dividing line between "to be" and "not to be" is not lost and the question of friendship in times of survival sets the necessary tension/conflict ... even if it is intensely personal (and reflected in the drought). As a frequent visitor to Central California I found the film believable and the acting appropriately understated, letting the facial visuals and the situation "do the talking".

Credit to Robert Olsen Hendry for his role in production.
