Custard Pie (1977– )
A most delicious dessert
27 February 2017
How could anyone not like a nice custard pie? Especially if it is with homemade custard filling and a light, flaky homemade crust. I remember this particular custard pie fondly. I had not even reached my first decade on this plane of existence when the delicious treat came out of the oven, piping hot and filling the house with a decadent aroma the set my olfactory senses on fire. Soon I was devouring this confection whole, paying no heed to the heat exuding around my tongue as my sudden insatiable culinary passion exploded! It was a great pie and Kate Lynch was there too.

One of the Top Ten Movies of 2009
25 October 2009
Weitz has built a fascinating fantasy world that's almost certain to wow the vast majority of audiences who haven't read and never will read, the young adult novels on which Cirque du Freak is based. A magical feat of dark tones and contrasting colors, the film's strikingly realized world is most evident in the freak show scenes but it carries on throughout The Vampire's Assistant. It's an eye-popping creation with its own ideas about how vampires should look and plenty of freaks to have fun with. Though it's clearly targeted at teens, Weitz doesn't water down the potentially horrifying world his movie is set in, instead he mixes it with well timed comedic hilarity to temper the tone. That, along with a brilliant performance from Reilly, is enough to make The Vampire's Assistant the sort of movie that transcends teenage pandering to become something that's simply a lot of fun.

The Middleman (2008)
Something Special 4 Intelligent TV viewers
30 June 2008
Odd, Weird, Strange and Campy........but the more you watch it the more it grows on you and you begin to love it. An snappy, well written comedy that's unlike anything on TV now. Watch it for that reason alone. It's different and highly entertaining. Don't know if it will carve out an audience sufficient enough to stay on the air long, but it will surely gathered a devoted audience, like other offbeat and short lived shows (The Tick, The Dresden Files and Wonderfalls for example). The comic acting is spot on and the supporting cast is extremely strong. I promise you, if you watch it, you WILL be hooked, if you have any imagination at all.

A Totally New Story, That's Better Than the Original
14 August 2005
Better acting, better writing (by far) and better directing. This new incarnation of Battlestar Galactica is probably the best new show of the year. I grew up watching the original and loved it, but if you've watched it lately, you see that it doesn't hold up. Most of the eps were just regurgitated story lines from movies and other TV shows. But this new version is out of this world. It's blend of Scifi, religious and dramatic storytelling is unbelievable. You need to watch this from the beginning and you'll be hooked. I just hope it's ratings stay up so it can reach it's conclusion. I hope this doesn't go the way of Farscape, where it was a struggle just to get some closure when the series was canceled after season 4.
