Rap Sh!t (2022–2023)

I give it a solid 7 so far...

I wanted to watch the whole thing before giving my opinion but since I saw or heard so many negative reviews prior to watching the show I figured I'd give it my 2 cents.

Now I just finished episode 3 and while it's not Insecure, I don't think I'd want the exact same show. I do dislike the recording with phone cameras angle but there are moments without it. Someone said in a review that the show sucks and all they do is have sex every episode, as I stated I'm on episode 3 and I've yet to see someone have sex 🙄 Someone else mentioned that it's a wannabe Pvalley. Maybe I just haven't seen enough episodes yet but it's NOTHING like Pvalley, excluding the fact that it's a black cast.

I will say I think they advertised the wrong people when promoting this show. I had NO IDEA that RJ Cyler was in this! He has been my man since Me, Earl &The Dying Girl. If he had been shown as part of the main cast I would've hopped on the show sooner.

I appreciate the music. I find it interesting that she used so many of her previous cast mates in this show. It's simply a show about a younger generation than mine and how they tackle adulting. So far it's not worth all these negative reviews.

I'm admittedly only 10 minutes in but...

I'm highly disappointed. I loved the book, I loved the movie, and I'm not connecting with this show at all. Which sucks because I was excited about it. I like Theo but either the writing or the way the actor's are delivering their lines leaves a LOT to be desired. It's offensive to the movie if we're being honest 😔😔😔

I knew I would watch this show when I first saw the preview. I mean, come on, it's Jason Sudeikis!!! But what a show! It never fails to make me smile but I also appreciate the tender moments that make me cry. It's got layers you know, like a deep fried onion. And the ensemble cast, just yes!!! It's worth a watch, I truly believe you won't regret it! Come on Season 2!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I rarely leave reviews. I'd like to dispel the naysayers. I don't think it's the same teen romance story told over and over again, but if it was who cares!?! It's not another remake, which I get sick and tired of, like are there no original stories to be told? Anywho. We've got Henry and Grace, while there are deep feelings between both they don't get a HEA. Which sucks, I felt for them both, I cried buckets, but I absolutely ADORE the movies/books that make you feel things! Being a teenager sucks, because you do find yourself at such a vulnerable period in your life, old enough to no longer be naive about the world around but too young to be taken seriously and so full of emotions and contradictions that you don't know what to do with.

All in all, great film, Lili Reinhart is beautiful as always. Well written, acted, produced! 🙏🙏🙏
