Retro Film Making At Its Most Original
19 September 2005
I was lucky enough to see this underrated gem of a film at its premiere in the unlikely but wholly appropriate setting of Rochdale in the North West of England.

The capacity house were all moved and gripped by the power of the performances, the quality of the script and the brilliant authenticity of the perfectly captured period.

This is a film that has been made on the proverbial shoestring budget and yet eclipses those made for far more and that offer far less.

Additionally, this is a film for the mature, thinking audience. A film that merits, indeed demands, a modicum of effort from its audience and yet amply rewards those willing to give it.

It packs a real punch and deserves to be seen by the widest possible audience. Hats off to the film makers for their courage, commitment and sheer talent and here's to their next offering.

Docu Drama

Strong stuff indeed!!! Innovative, creepy yet also darkly funny - this is a must see movie that defies all attempts to categorise it as just a gangster film.

It is so much more, and shows a depth of quality and originality that suggests a bright future for this group of oh so talented film makers.

This excellent low budget British film underlines the depth of talent that exists in the UK and deserves to be seen by the widest possible audience.

Michael Booth is clearly a man to watch and I look forward to watching his next movie with enthusiasm.
