Norma Jean & Marilyn (1996 TV Movie)
4/10
Horrible Portrayal
5 August 2005
Warning: Spoilers
A horrible portrayal of the legendary Marilyn Monroe.

If Marilyn Monroe was as dumb as this movie made her out to be, we wouldn't be celebrating her legacy as we are today. Marilyn Monroe was a brilliant woman who knew how to work the cameras. She had a heart and this movie made her cold and without a soul.

Her death scene portrayed in this movie is inaccurate and ridiculous. She not die in an ambulance or in the bathroom and she did not drink down her pills. She took pills that have to be put through the rectum, not the mouth, and she was found by her maid face down on her bed naked in her bedroom with the telephone beside her.

No Plot, No Jokes, No Point!
5 August 2005
I knew this was going to be horrible. Not the fact that of course the script was going to be bad, but just at the fact that there are NO real actors in the movie.

Did the producers seriously think Stifler, the guy from Jackass, and a mediocre pop singer could carry the legacy of the Dukes of Hazzard? Basically, Sean William Scott plays his typical 'Stifler' character and Johnny Knoxville plays...well....Johnny Knoxville.

And Jessica Simpson is a horrible actress. If a southern woman can't pull off a southern accent, she is indeed a bad actress. She sounds like Carol Burnett doing her Scarlet O'Hara impersonation. Fortunately, her role isn't as big as promotion is making it seem.

1 out of 10. Please don't waste your money on this movie and go buy the Dukes of Hazzard Season 1 DVD.

The Parent 'Hood (1995–1999)
Cosby Show Meets Full House
5 August 2005
An obvious WB version of The Cosby Show, except this show spent too much time preaching about cliché morals that have been told a thousand times on shows like Full House and The Cosby Show. Too many morals and not enough comedy. The parents are unlikeable (the mother is a snob and the father is too uptight) and the children are unlikeable too. Since the family members spent too much time getting into the typical trouble that leads to that big moral speech at the end, they didn't have enough time to be funny so they added flat boring neighbors to make the show bearable. TV shows like this didn't last because at the end of the day, we watch TV to be entertained, not to be preached to. And though family shows such as The Cosby Show and Full House preached, they were still charming at the same time.
