Film Perfection in a Prison Cell
19 February 2016
'The Green Mile' for me is what puts the f, i, l and m into the word film.

Across the whole border, it has the correct distribution of comedy, action, powerfully emotive and well acted scenes. Each cast member adds something remarkably magical to the movie too, whether it simply be the way they speak their lines or the background of their character.

Not only this, but the plot is told in the most unique yet special of ways, it is an adults fairy tale and choked me with laugher and tears.

As any film he does, Tom Hanks is absolutely superb and his portrayal of his character is by far one of the best pieces of acting I have seen in television, cinema or theatre.

The film shows a vast variety of themes too, each and everyone told in a gold-dust way.

For me, this film is up there with the top and shall never be replaced.

Off Your Trolley If You Don't Watch This
18 February 2016
I started watching 'Trollied' in the Summer of last year when I caught up on the first four series within a matter of days! I was glued to each episode as I found all the characters both interesting and entertaining.

It has to be one of the only television programmes in existence where I like every single character. However, my favourite HAS to be the elderly worker there, Margaret.

The programme is wonderfully and cleverly scripted, each line hidden with jokes for all demographics of viewers.

The cast are well blended too, each of them adding something different to the mix.

My only complaint that stops me giving it full marks is there aren't enough episodes in each series!

Dad's Army (2016)

More Like Dads 'Barmy'

I am a huge British comedy fan, I love all the classics: Only Fools, Open All Hours, Keeping Up Appearances, you name it basically.

I've seen a few episodes of Dad's Army, maybe a couple of series worth in total and it was exactly the sort of humour I enjoyed and therefore was excited to watch this film.

Not only this but the cast was to be filled with some of the best of British actors- Bill Nighy, Catherine Zeta Jones and Alison Steadman to name three.

However, there I am, sat in the cinema with my Maltesers, seemingly reading the packet for entertainment after half an hour, rather than watching the film.

The introduction to the characters was fantastic and clearly highlighted who was who and for that I praise however I didn't feel the personalities of each character at all, it was all just too bland.

Through the whole film, there were only about 2 or 3 genuinely funny parts, the others just felt stale and this made the whole film seem awkward.

The plot was filled with so many holes where they had so much potential, they could've really gone down the classic British humour route but instead, I felt myself looking around the cinema to see if there was anything entertaining.

Within twenty minutes, the ending already seemed predictable which completely spoiled the film for me.

However, the female cast were what lead it for me, head strong and played by some fantastic actresses.

So for any Dad's Army fans expecting huge things, prepare to be disappointed!
