The Last of Us: Endure and Survive (2023)
The Cost of the Need for Revenge
An explicit example of the cost of the need for revenge. Kathleen could not let go of her anger and need for revenge. Even if understandable, it ultimately was the downfall of her and her people, who followed her off the cliff. She forgot her prime goal... keeping her people safe, in her lust to kill the person who harmed her and her family. She followed him to kill him to the outer bounds of her safe haven, resulting in an epic battle that unleashed the hounds of hell. Kansas City will be wiped out within a few days. An epic, almost mythological story. No one in this story is all bad or all good. Some are even heroic. But there are lessons to be learned here.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Ghosts of Illyria (2022)
Quality Dropped on This One & Preachy
Enjoy this show a lot, but this episode? Writing was stilted, scenes we set up in odd ways, once I wasn't even sure who characters were talking to. Acting was off too, except for Anson Mount & Ethan Peck ( who continues to be excellent). I also found this one overly preachy. Star Trek has always taught us about the beauty of acceptance and the evil of bigotry, but did so through the stories, not by characters telling us how awful we ( used?) to be. It got tedious and boring. Tell us a good yarn with a moral question at its core, and teach through examples. But get off the pulpits please.

Haven't We Been Here Before? But I still love it.
First off what I loved about this episode was a lot of good writing and acting. And I always enjoy the little twists. But while I enjoyed this episode a lot I can't but feel a tad disappointed. I was hoping for the big bad reveal to be something bigger than "betrayal by a close confident", that had been done before.

Enjoy This One for What it Was - A Zany Fun Ride!
Some of my fellow reviewers who disliked this episode seemed to have lost their sense of fun & only seem want episodes to be done in one formulaic way. Me? I think is was a wonderful, zany, crazy episode, with a focus on Aram but plenty of Red. Loosen up and enjoy!
The Blacklist: Between Sleep and Awake (2022)
Better Than I Thought it Would Be.
Didn't we see at the end of 822 Ressler, Cooper and Aram all at Liz's body at the same time? Ressler is guilty of DUI crash with injury and he's not arrested? He doesn't even bother to show at his internal review hearing and yet he gets reinstated in S9? The first doctor actually gives him, knowing he had had addiction problems, Oxy? Really? (Ressler lied to the second doc.) He shoots and kills a policeman and the local, police basically congratulate him and let him go? Honestly, I wish the show could be just so much better with continuity and believability. But the story within the story was interesting and held my attention. And I thought Diego's acting at the grave site was quite good. And what a cute kid! Hopefully Ressler ends up with the women he meets in this episode so he can just calm down.
The Blacklist: Konets (2021)
Parlor Tricks.
What I feel about this show is cheated. Everything everyone else has said here, but also the strongly hinted at reveal that Red is Liz's mother. So if Liz *had* killed Red she would have found out she had killed both her father and her mother. Nice. And if this is true I have serious problems about the honesty of the writers during its early seasons or suspect that a reconcept happened. In logic, one negative finding disproves any theory. Example, once there was a theory that the world is flat...by all indications & hints it is, but then a math proof, the suns shadow changing at different latitudes, proved the theory false. That one fact disproved all of the hints. There are several scenes and things Red said to Liz in early seasons that do not mesh with him being Katarina. Facts that disprove the theory. An example is when Red told Liz that he once had a normal life, bills to pay, friends, and he lost all that. Sound like the Katarina as we now know her? Of course not. I feel like I gave my loyalty to this show and got no loyalty back. I used to think it was a smart show, but now I see it's been just parlor tricks.
The Blacklist: Nachalo (2021)
Excellent Episode
So many complainers! This episode was well constructed with loads of answers. Loved the black & white. They could have shown Liz reading some kind of official history.. boring... instead they chose to show us what she was reading and her thoughts about it all. Wonderful.
