I had fun
29 August 2021
For a free Hulu comedy with an A list cast, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. No, it will not win any oscars but if you enjoyed "Blockers" this is for you. Make a drink. Sit back and have fun.. that's what movies are for right??

This is not Haunting of Hill House
11 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
For the most part, all of the negative reviews I've seen have come from people who could not get past the first three episodes and were expecting "October jump scare horror". This show is not that. It's something else entirely and I am so happy they took the risk to make this.

I would say the majority of people watching this show are watching because of Hill House and rightfully so. When I saw that actors were returning for season one in a new house, I got worried. I was worried that this show would turn into another American Horror Story. But boy was I wrong.

This season reminds us that this is a show about characters. Not jump scares, not "horror", but about grief, pain, and sorrow. The horrors we experience through loss and what that truly does to someone. The journey from episode one was a slow build, but the last eight minutes of this episode had me in tears and justified every moment of slow build in the beginning.

If you're looking for a cheap scare, this season is not for you. But if you're here to invest in a love story that has ghost in it, hold on tight.

THANK YOU NETFLIX FOR TAKING THE RISK
11 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
We all are here because we fell in love with The Haunting of Hill House. The first three episodes of this season were a slow build. Then episode four rolls around and pieces start to fall into place. Fast forward to episode 8 in full throttle.

This season is a "horror" not for mainstream audiences, if you even want to call it horror. This season is about loss, grief, pain and sorrow. They could have easily tried to recreate the masterpiece that was The Haunting of Hill House but instead took a new approach, a very personal story driven approach that will take you to "hell", as our characters are experiencing, and back.

This episode takes a step back and gives us the true heart of the manor. Why there is so much sadness and a lingering restlessness that seeps through the house. Why angry spirits roam through the halls at night looking for resolution. All in beautiful black and white.

Mike, I will follow your career to the end. Amazing all around.
