Great job!
A+ stunt work as usual. Congratulations, Nathan. Fantastic short. Could've used a Jeff Goldblum impression though..
The Huntsman: Winter's War (2016)
Whaaaaat did he say?!
Couldn't understand a thing Chris Hemsworth said through his terribly muddled Scottish Jeff Bridges accent, and it seemed to be contagious as it spread to all the cast past the half way point. Needed to turn on subtitles to be able to follow the story.
Also, not that special effects necessarily make a good movie, but this one was lacking in the department.
I appreciate trying to put a new spin on a classic, but the budget spent on cast set a disappointing bar for how good the movie was going to be. If you were led to this film by searching through any specific cast member's filmography, you can probably skip this one.
MacGruber (2010)
Maybe the best SNL skit-based Movie
This movie just gets me. From the child like humor of Will Forte, to the way over the top sarcastic bad guy played by fat Val Kilmer, it's one of my favorites.
While personally never having seen MacGyver, I can say as long as you're vaguely aware of the character and/or have seen a few of the original MacGruber skits on SNL (plenty available on YouTube) and have enjoyed them, this movie is fantastic.
Long story short, this is a movie about a man stuck mentally in his 80's prime fighting the new age terrorism of the 2000's. A dark comedy that has plenty of hearty laughs and solid nostalgia for anyone born in the 80's- 90's that has any sense of humor at all.
Mr. Right (2015)
Don't pick the wrong movie...
The only positive notoriety this movie will get is from people accidentally rating it higher than they want to, thinking that it's another movie with the same exact title released in the same year. I accidentally watched 45 minutes of this movie waiting patiently for the action to start before realizing this is a bad Tyler Perry rip-off.
That being said, I realize that I was at a predisposition to dislike this movie and tried to keep an open mind for the remainder, but it was still nothing more than terribly predictable romance clichés peppered with one or two laughs for the entire movie. Word to the wise: double check to make sure that you've selected the correct film before continuing any further.
The proof is in the pudding. On this page, in the "people who liked this also liked..." section is the movie I originally meant to watch, suggesting to me that quite a large number of viewers that liked this film quickly realized their mistake and liked the correct movie.
