Hawk the Slayer (1980)
Loved as a kid, hope to appreciate as an adult!
I fell in love with this movie when I first saw it at age 10. I had such a crush on Hawk!! As I am all grown up now, I have hit a nostalgia stage and am trying to collect all the old movies and TV series I loved as a kid! I am sure that the movie would be a cornball fest for first-time viewers if they are adults! But, your kids will love it! It has a great message amongst the fighting and an air of mystery. I loved Crow, his bow was awesome!!! The giant was even cool! I think I liked Baldwin the most. The fight scenes are pretty good, the sword and the stone are an outrageous concept for the time when this movie was made. At least Hawk was cute! Mind you, I haven't seen this movie in over 12 years! I hope that I can appreciate it almost as much as when I was a kid?
The characters, at least, make this a unique movie-watching experience!
Eliminators (1986)
Same old stuff: creation rebels against creator
I saw this movie when I was about 12 and into the whole "robots are cool" phase. I happened to see it at the store for about $3 (it has been over 10 years!)and thought why not. Should have saved my three bucks! Not as cool as when I was 12, but I still like Spot. He was the best part of the whole movie!!! Yes, the graphics are bad and the plot fairly lame, but it is a good laugh for bad acting. The boat chase is fun if you like to watch things blow up. Could you blame the Mandroid for going after his "creator"? That guy really screwed him up!! But, justice was done in the end and I enjoyed that!!
A kid into robots may enjoy it.
