Oppenheimer (2023)
Loved the history, bored with the characters
This movie had a wonderful amount of historical information.
After that, outside of Emily Blunt, I cared for not one character, and half the time I was trying to figure out what all the black and white scenes were about.
Was it because of communist ties? It's so vague for too long.
Also this woman he has a few words with is suddenly banging her and of course women tiits, but never male nudity. Then later returning to bang her again, whilst married, and then mourns her death as if she was his spouse. Unlikeable character portrayal of Oppenheimer. Einstein was again portrayed as nearly a comical version of Einstein. Can they never get someone who embodies him as a human and not a caricature? Yeah by 2 hours in, I was bored beyond belief. I didn't get what the end goal was. Yeah, a film I will never watch twice, and not because it was like Schindler's list where it was too upsetting to watch twice, but because it was basically beyond boring.
The Carol Burnett Show: The Pointer Sisters (1975)
Harriet Bleacher
This was the saddest skit, I remember from a child!
The invisible woman to society.
And is so happy when she is told she has butter on her face.
I don't know why but that skit always stuck with me from the 1970s. I am in my 50s now
The Umbrella Academy (2019)
The problem is, I don't CARE about any of the characters.
Bored 1/4 into episode 2.
What is up with every scene being so dark and blue tinted??? I can barely make out faces half the time.
And PROFESSIONALS, torturing a poor truck driver, that if they did their research would CLEARLY show he is not #5? Pathetic. Put torture crap in a movie and you lose me.
None of the characters seem to really like each other, no sibling bond, just BULK man wants to shag the movie star. They all hate one "sister" over a book. I cannot literally remember a single character name, but one is latino I remember at the most.
I think mom is a robot.
So you got crazy drug addict, One I THINK an ex- cop who is butting in on the investigation one of the # kids? That is how bland they are, I forget their faces, too. One an astronaut, , the actress, violinist, time travel kid, who is 7? The kid who "wasn't special"? (I assume later she will be). Anyway, too boring to bother to find out, cuz I simply don't care. And therein lies the problem with this show.
Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie (2016)
26 Year Fan, entertained but somwhat disappointed in the film!
#1 problem? EDITING.
What was up with the scenes that came across as short promos?
We had no character build up to Lola who is now 13, and a British accent yet grew up in Africa??? Makes no sense. Is willing to do what she did cuz she is more Edina than Sophie ? How is she driving at 13?
Eddie seemed flat and subdued. None of her series vocal outrageousness.
Patsy seems unaged. Patsy was Patsy and was good.
I think Eddie should have had longer hair, too. She was too old looking for what was supposed to be her 60 years of age.
It was just hard to follow, there was no continuance. I put this on the editors 100%. I am sure there was enough footage to make this better.
Gran was not much more than a background prop. She deserved more, given she is gone now only 2 years later.
How did Bubble save enough on her salary to buy that home, even if she skimmed? So basically she embezzled?
Anyway.. sadly, chopped together, and hard to track what the real dilemma was. Running away cuz someone "maybe" died?
