Let Him Go (2020)
7/10
Great drama, heartbreaking story.

If you lived a little, maybe you are a parent or grandparent too, this drama hits you hard. Top performances and backgrounds. A great 2020 gem, esp. when you are sick of the superheroes/sex scene/political agendas type of movies.

Worth watching
3 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I was about to give it an 8 but for that ending I see it now more as a 7. I honestly almost had a heart attack and I did not expected that from a coming of age movie, not sure if that is a good or a bad thing, I would suspect is a good way to surprise the audience. I am all about watching this kind of movies with certain 80s, 90s or even 50s vibe these days. Yet, the 3 stars minus for the fact that the actions in the last act seem really out of touch with the reality and do not fit at all with the rest of the movie, I do not say this because of the sad aspect but because a criminal hunted by the whole town police, can not steal 2 teenage boys from their own home, from under the parents, should be, care....I mean....yeah life is unfair sometimes but it just doesnt sit good with me this time.

I liked it.

Warning: Spoilers
Who does NOT love the 90´s vibe and murder mysteries ? The performances are on point as well as the settings. Is that kind of summer show, you know it. A second season without Becky or Casper would make no sense, but with different story lines while keeping the theme would be interesting to watch.

The Act (2019)

Chilling Story
9 April 2020
I was familiar with Gypsy and DeeDee, since I saw the documentary once or twice. You can never imagine this story in real life, yet ..it happened. I once saw a photo of Gypsy and her mother made at one of those conventions and people where making fun of them on the internet, commenting specially about Gypsy's appearance...before the incident...and then, after some year, the horror, I saw the story and what was really going on. Made me reflect how we should take life more seriously and one can be sad, happy, angry etc..but to bully or make fun of others is honestly the most disturbing and useless act we can do as humans.

This series is very faithful to the reality. The acting is strong, genuine, dramatic.

One thing I missed here was Dee Dee's financial drive. We see her counting some money, but was more than this. Yes, she was mentally not ok, but she also used her daughter to make a living, Gypsy's father send them not just alimony, but also financial support for different ,, treatments,, and surgeries. DeeDee was basically not working. She enjoyed all the ,,gifts,, instead. And another thing missing, or better said, I wish they tackled it, was the many doctors involved (hundreds?) and how oblivious they were. Is inexcusable honestly and they could have raised some awareness on that matter.

I wish Gypsy all the best and I do hope her mother found her peace.
