Cradle of Fear (2001)
...
from the very first, rather amusing scene (if anything else), only further hilarity ensues. This film is fantastic...if you like laughing so hard your guts hurt. The part that had me in total stitches, was the car scene! y'know, the bit where it swerves to one side and up onto the pavement at 200mph. Oh, not to mention the kitty, the ultra-tough one that can still muster up a "meow" after several blows with a kitchen knife. Ooh Ooh, and the leg with a mind of its own!! This film also has a much more sickening side, though this too, was hilarious. I can imagine that people would not want to eat lasagna for the rest of their life. But the comical side of it far outweighs the thoughts of vomiting uncontrollably. The spider baby scene is just a classic example of way-over-the-top. More blood was spread about the room than could possibly be present in 2 human bodies. Also, the latex skull at the beginning...the head, though naturally bone, opened up like an orange, and when stamped upon, appeared to have no brain matter what-so-ever.
Also, The acting is the complete total shambles. The only character who even slightly managed to pull off a decent role was Richard. But then again, he had to only half decent story. The sick room is a very cool idea, despite being for sick and totally degraded individuals. Though as soon as he found himself the midgets house, the end had already revealed itself, and completely let you down, once more.
To be frank, This film is poop. Though if you ever have the guys round for a booze, and you need 2 hours worth of time to waste, you may as well spend it watching one of the most ridiculously funny films in existence.
1/10...
10/10 for comic value though...
