Honeycrisp (2017)
A predictable, yet inspiring, story that is overshadowed by its lazy cinematography
There's a line in this movie where one of the main characters says, "Nobody needed to see this," and I'm pretty sure that wraps up my thoughts on the film.
While the dialogue is believable and almost humorous at times, the story often becomes cliche and predicable, and the lazy cinematography makes the film difficult to watch. I'm sure this story had a good premise at the start, but it's clear that not much creativity went into it beyond that point.
Had the framing and shots been better, the finished product could've been a lot more entertaining. The lack of different shots leads me to believe that the crew tried to rush the production process, avoiding needing more than one shot per scene, and their laziness reflects on the final cut. It's a pity, because the story and characters did have a lot of potential.
