Pali Road (2015)
Pali Road = Awesome!
I watched Pali Road in a cinema with a friend, and we both liked it very much. The movie is different than most of the romance-thrillers, because there are no clichés like you would find in every other romance, and its story is unconventional. The script is brilliant, and even though I know romances are rarely blockbusters, I truly hope it will get more audience in cinemas. The girl who plays Lily is sooo cute and talented, I will definitely be watching more of her work in the future. The director also did a great job, there were many beautiful scenes in the movie and which kept my attention to the very end. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I recommend it to anyone!
Pixies (2015)
The Supernatural Sprite
Taking into account the fact that the Pixies movie is about magical creatures fighting against humans little was to be expected from this movie. The setting takes place in a suburban neighborhood where Joe Beck is a mechanic. However it turns out to be much more lively than most of the Disney movies out there. The computer animation is brilliantly done by engineers and designing the characters and modeling them made the story more believable. Believability is an essential key in any movie whether action, adventure, or animation. The great voiceovers perfectly matched the character's personalities. Nothing more can be said about this story except that it was a better alternative to some other animation movies.
Olympus: Daedalus (2015)
Hero's Uncertain Quest
As far as I'm concerned this story is nothing more than a mythology mess-up full of everything and nothing jumbled together. It's like a bad repackaged version of Greek mythology. I like the actors though and the idea of curses and magic. What I don't like about the episode though is that I feel that it just gives too much of the story away. In general it's never good for someone to give too much of the story away too soon because it bores the audience. Unfortunately Daedalus the inventor doesn't seem to help much with this story. I don't think this story is as bad as the people reviewing say that it is. All I'm saying is that certain parts of this story could be better. I love the fictional aspect added into the war between King Aegeus and King Minos because of its historical significance. It's hard to tell who are the good guys and the bad guys in this story though. Each character appears to have a different motive and many of them look to be quite selfish and not caring about anybody except themselves.
Olympus (2015)
Olympus and Everlasting Life
For those of you who don't know Olympus is a British-Canadian TV series. It's airing now, and I must say it's one of the best Greek myth TV shows I have ever seen. It's filled with action, oracles, and finally the most prized possession of all called the Lexicon. Hero is the main character who happens to be after the Lexicon at the same time as Queen Medea. All in all this mythology-influenced drama is one of the best, and the set designs are absolutely wonderful, not to mention very well constructed. On top of that the story is well developed as well, with the idea that fascinated human beings for ages onwards that we could become immortal. This Lexicon is a secret tool that all of the major characters are seeking out, since after all who wouldn't want to have everlasting life complete with the power of a god. The only worrisome notion is that everyone is in trouble if this tool got into the wrong hands.
The character that I like best so far is Queen Medea because she has the cold superiority of a woman who runs to castle so to speak and gets things done. It takes both character and brains to be a queen, and the actress who plays the queen demonstrates these traits in a fantastic and skilled manner. Now I certainly recommend this TV show to anyone who loves Greek mythology and wants to watch an entertaining action/ drama about it.
