Karthikeya 2 (2022)
A Wasted Potential
This movie could have been an enthralling thriller if it did not focus so much on pandering to a certain socio-political group. The most disappointing fact was that they took a plot that could have been great and ruined it by focusing too much on trying to prove that myths and superstitions are factual. Lot of the dialogues sound fallacious and the lack of brevity in them makes you want to skip ahead and just get to the main scenes. The actors did a decent job but it felt like their potential wasn't fully utilised. The animation was less than decent. We live in 21st century with advancements in graphics. There is no excuse for bad animation anymore, especially when you are working with a sufficient budget. Overall, the movie is not worth someone's time.
Minamdang (2022)
Unoriginal and poorly written
The story is not written very well. It is not creative at all, in the sense, it feels like it's a mix of previous dramas. And too many characters that do not have any significance are introduced just to fill up episodes. It just feels boring and you will reach to a point where you just want to finish it since you have started it. And comedy is too drawn out. There are no witty dialogues or unpredictable moments that have you helplessly giggling or laughing. And the romantic moments are a huge cringe! There was zero chemistry between any of the couples. Overall, I do not recommend watching it if you are looking for a good and entertaining series.
Death on the Nile (2022)
Ugh!
It seems like these days, most movies' only job is to take the classics and ruin them for those who grew up reading or watching them. The plot is unbearable, the actors talent subpar and the direction weak. If you have already read the book, go ahead and give the movie a skip.
Khiladi (2022)
Epitome of BAD direction.
Khiladi is a good example of how someone can take a talented cast and a thrilling plot and can still end up ruining the entire movie! What wonders could have been done with such cast ensemble and story. Yet the combination of cheap copy of Mission Impossible scenes and useless dialogues ultimately made the movie unwatchable.
Kolaigaran (2019)
Could have been better!
The story flow could have been a bit better than what it was. And the excessive use of same background music irked me after a while. But the story is intriguing and of course, Arjun is the best part of the movie. Vijay Antony's talent, on the other hand, needs a lot of work.
Life (2007)
Not a very good one...
Or may be I am just watching it in the wrong era. Lot of things are pretty inaccurate and the romantic plots themselves feel weird and just don't work. I think there's an overt focus on them which makes the whole series look bad.
Mechanic: Resurrection (2016)
Too typical!
An adventure movie isn't just about blood and guns. It needs a well-built plotline. This one doesn't. No story, no twists, nothing except for fighting and random killing. And oh! A damsel in distress to complete the cycle.
Raketsonyeondan (2021)
Not too bad
It's a show with some heart warming story lines. True, there is some xenophobic plotlines, but rest of it is good and clean entertainment.
The Chosen (2017)
Incredibly Beautiful!
The Chosen brings to life the old, old story we all love. The story of Jesus and His disciples is so wonderfully potrayed and it is so relatable to us living in this age. Again, that's what Gospel is all about. It will continue to stay relevant, no matter the generation. I wanna offer my congratulations to the team who brought this amazing series to the audience.
Mubeop Byeonhosa (2018)
Needed more work
It's a series with a good story but a bad execution. They failed to make proper use of such talented cast ensemble. The character development is almost absent because the story seems so hurried. Watch it when you're all out of options!
Manmadhudu 2 (2019)
Unbearably annoying
The whole story told was just wrong. It was horribly written and poorly executed. In spite of big actors, the acting was sub par at best. It literally gave me a headache. My one star goes to Mr. Bramhanandam. Everything else, just boring.
The New Mutants (2020)
So so Horrible!!
This is one of those movies you regret watching. I kept an eye on the clock wondering when this cheap horror would end. Even though the story starts well, it deteriorates pretty quickly. The illogical direction, boring horror scenes and subpar acting will irk you. If you are looking to preserve your time for something better, than please don't watch this movie. This is nothing like the X-Men and if you approach it with such an idea, then you will only be disappointed.
Jojakdoen dosi (2017)
Ji Chang Wook was a hit
As unique and interesting Fabricated City is, the only thing better than a fascinating story is the actor who blew his audience' minds. JCW's talent shines through and the way he portrays 'Captain' is amazing. The graphics are pretty good too.
Sijipeuseu: The Myth (2021)
Way too illogical!
I understand that sci-fi genre operates under 'irrational' yet there's a limit to it. But for Sisyphus, sky seems to be the limit. No logic, no reasoning and absolutely senseless in so many ways. Action scenes lack flair. Casting is just wrong, in so many ways. And the story, which is a derivative of many time-travel movies and series before, just doesn't seem to evoke interest. For all the hype it created, Sisyphus ultimately is quite disappointing. The only reason I gave it three stars is because the series shines in the graphics department.
Master (2021)
Action Thriller that failed to deliver all it could.
With an interesting premise, Master's opening definitely is inquisitive. But it falls short pretty quickly with the lack of acting skills and proper screenplay. The story is slow-paced and quite illogical at times. But I have to admit; There are few good things that makes the movie entertaining among which Vijay is one. As always, his talent shone through. Overall, it's not too bad but not extraordinary either.
Vinaya Vidheya Rama (2019)
Horrible! Simply horrible!
The movie that started out weird ended up being completely illogical. Most of the plot was cliche but the thing that I absolutely hated was the direction. The screenplay fell short too. Even though, most of the cast are big names in the industry, I felt their talent was wasted on such a movie. I recommend that you do not watch this one.
Forensic (2020)
Grossly underrated
Forensic drives you to watch it with it's never ending twists revealed at perfect timing.
The direction was amazing and so were the actors who brought the story to life. Depravity of human beings shown in contrast with their skill drives you to fear and wonder.
Penguin (2020)
Quite the failure
Despite the trailer pointing towards a gripping thriller, Penguin is anything but! Riddled with plot holes, the movie is also filled with actors short of talent and background score that doesn't match the intensity of the scenes.
Hilleo (2014)
Can't grip your attention!
Healer falls short of proper storyline, acting, direction and chemistry between the actors. Neither can it keep your attention not can it make you long for more. And the background soundtrack is all wrong. I have never in my life, seen a series so badly made that I am unable to complete 20 episodes even after 3 months of starting to watch them.
Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020)
Offensive premise!
Although the acting and comedy are good, the movie's premise is extremely offensive. To cast poor people as poor in heart and rich people as rich in heart is a disgusting plotline and sends a wrong message to people who strive everyday to make ends meet. I am truly disappointed!
Saaho (2019)
So much is wrong with this movie...
Where do I begin? The whole movie is riddled with plot holes. While the story attempts to be mysterious, it is anything but. It becomes quite predictable after a point given the clinché of the plot choice. And the action scenes are exaggerated, quite unrealistic and the narrative was constructed in a way that made irrationality of every scene glaringly obvious to the audience. I get that they have spent so much money, got Prabhas and Shradha Kapoor to cast, but the movie falls flat of what it promises to offer leaving us with disappointment and exhaustion.
Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya (2019)
Incredible! Just incredible!
This movie is one of those rarest, with a perfect combination of humor, thrill and tragedy. Although most of the actors are new, their talent shone throughout the movie, making it a surreal experience to watch. And it's even more amazing the way the director and the writer managed to draw our attention to so many social issues and loopholes in the system. I commend the entire cast and crew for such an amazing movie. This is a classic example of how to use the cinema to create awareness among the people!
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Quite the rollercoaster
With a perfect respect to both death and life, Endgame lived up to the definition of closure. The intricate plot takes you through laughter and tears, joy and grief, anticipation and thrill. The cast and the crew did an incredible job in pulling off the task set before them.
Maharshi (2019)
Really not worth your time.
Sure there are some plus points. Cinematography was pretty good. The messages embedded in the plot were touching. The performance of the actors was good as always. Apart from that, the movie fails on multiple counts. The plot is quite absurd, made no sense and has no flow whatsoever. The direction was average at best, dragging the story in unnecessary directions with too much predictability.
Sseul-sseul-ha-go cha-ran-ha-sin-do-ggae-bi (2016)
Breathtaking
Goblin just blows you up and leaves you with wanting more. The plot is amazingly constructed with right amount of suspense, humor, tragedy and romance. And the actors are really talented.
And to be frank, I was quite lost in Gong Yoo's smile and talent.
