Expecting to see a vivid story? To be taken into the troubling events of Ireland in the early seventees? To be served with a plot that leaves you wonderd yet satisfied?
Don't bother this one. Better leave it and watch another movie as there are enough other great movies around.
Kenneth Branagh has chosen the boy Billy as a point the story evolves around and that just the way people should be watching the movie. It is also the problem. After a mind blowing opening with some awsome shots of Belfast nowadays and a horrific, warlike invation of a gentle street in Belfast 1969 the story isn't moving at all for like two hours.
Kudos for Carián Hinds who plays the Granddad in the movie. He is the heart of the movie in which viewers can place themselves.
Not the best movie of the year.
