A good movie mostly due to the cast and performances
3 March 2023
Complaints first.

Editing and directing was not great though. It had too many short cuts and camera jumps. Those actors could easily handle scenes longer than a few seconds.

Camera's fascination with Margot's gorgeous face was a bit over the top. She is certainly easy to look at but she plays the character quite well so the abundance of shots with static face and the good looks were excessive.

Despite of that the movie is absolutely worth watching thanks to great performances. Christian Bale's acting as always leads the pack, closely followed by Margot's. Michael Shannon and Mike Myers characters are quite entertaining. I loved Anya Taylor-Joy performance as much as I hated her character.

My recommendation is this. While the movie has shortcomings, don't let them get on the way of enjoying it.

A show with no target audience
9 July 2022
The show does not have much of an audience.

It feels like this is a show for kids: the plot, the kind of simple acting, age of main characters etc - all give an idea this is a kid show. At the same time with frequent profanity (there were brief and without captions barely noticeable "s" and "f" words) frightening and intense scenes it feels like "G" rating was an oversight.

It is a show for no one. It is not for young kids and teens would pass on it due to character age.

A great subject but stretched unreasonably
16 April 2021
It would be a solid good documentary if it was under 1 hour of run time. Instead it was artificially stretched, irrelevant pieces added, with lots of repetition. It is not worth the time.
