Utterly chaotic and downright ridiculous at times..but with a lot of HEART

From a filmmaking standpoint there's a lot that's not quite right with this film. There's just far too much going on at times. Some cuts are really abrupt & sometimes the humor is completely out of place. There are too many important characters. The entire adam warlock arc was far too rushed, which is a shame because the actor did a great job.

Ultimately all this doesn't really matter though because the things this film gets right, it executes amazingly well. It has the most heart out of any marvel film to date. It manages to be really funny and incredibly emotional at the same time. It does this better than thor 4 or even thor Ragnarok ever could. It's downright dark at times and gives even more emotional depth to the protagonists than the previous films. Where countless franchises have failed before it, GOG actually manages to finish a trilogy in incredibly satisfying fashion. All the characters are given an amazing send off and while it's the weakest of the 3 films technically speaking, it's grander, more emotional and serves as an amazing finale to a thoroughly enjoyable space journey.

We're gonna kill the really bad guys!! Proceeds to kill hundreds of innocents in the crossfire. Not caring for any innocent lives as long as they get to kill one bad guy.

Now, I am quite able to leave my brain at the door and enjoy a daft action movie provided the one central premise of the film makes Sense. Meaning that with this particular Mess of a Film, the entire purpose of the protagonists e.g killing the really bad guys, HAS to be consistent. But when they then proceed to inadvertently kill dozens of innocents in the opening scene alone, no amount of switching off your brain can compensate for the absolute lack of any logic or story. And that's the whole point of this film. It's for people who truly don't need any sense of logic or a barely coherent plot to enjoy a film . Just plenty of action scenes, car chases, explosions, bad guys, naked hot women etc.. thrown together to form a collection of Micheal Bays wet daydreams. I won't attempt to further analyse or criticise this movie, as that would be without merit. If you're one of the aforementioned people, then you'll probably enjoy it. However if you need some semblance of logic or coherent storytelling, you'll have to try very hard to enjoy this film.

A lot of very lazy writing coupled with some amazing scenes and solid acting. (minimal spoilers)

Seeing as enough reviews have pointed out all the plot holes this series has, I'm not going to go over them in Detail. I will however say how disappointing they are for us viewers. The Show is very well made, the acting is solid and some scenes like the train scene or the bomb disarming scene were of incredibly high standards. They had me on the edge of my seat even though it was fairly obvious Budd wasn't going go be killed. They were absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately they appear to have sucked up all the creativity, leaving the Rest of the Show with more Plot Holes than a swiss Cheese. (Sorry) It's a great Drama and I still thoroughly enjoyed watching it but it's definitely not a master piece. It could have been, had they actually taken their time with the plot. Granted, it was a huge success and a lot of people obviously don't take the plot that seriously. If you're one of them, you'll have a great time watching this. If however, you are someone who values solid writing, this might be a bit too frustrating to watch. It might be worth watching some of the scenes I mentioned though, as they really were top notch.

Lucifer: Quintessential Deckerstar (2018)
Season 3, Episode 23

Finally!!
8 May 2018
Since last season I've been more or less forcing myself to watch this show, constantly reminding myself how great it was back in season one, but it just kept getting worse and worse. I was so confused as to how a intriguing show with many complex underlying themes about love, destiny, god, etc etc.., could turn into this godawful sappy love/cop show with crappy one liners. All the good music was gone, all the quality piano scenes, the clever devil and hell references. To sum up, it felt like the entire writing team had been swapped and replaced by the people behind shows like the big bang theory. Yet finally after so many episodes it all went back to normal. This was easily one of the best episodes ever, up there with "a priest walks into a bar". Here's to hoping they can keep this going and work on the trashy filler episodes, because the season finales have actually always been very good, it just seems like they actually only have a few episodes of good content per season.
