The Orville: Twice in a Lifetime (2022)
Season 3, Episode 6

Yep, it's going to the toilet like other shows
7 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I understand Macfarlane's urge to tapping in-depth social issues in the show, just like any other Hollywood celebrities under woke culture these days. But since the beginning of the 3rd season, the show becomes very condescending. The needs to lecture the public are literally leaking from screen, yet the logic and the background in the show stink like a 3rd grader's work.

Take this episode for example, compelling the 2025 Gordon is neither productive nor safe, since Gordon already caused massive ripple effects in the timeline, and taking him wont fix what happened other than breaking a nuclear family. Why not just get the fuel and go to the correct time spot to begin with? For more dumb drama?

And it seems future people in this show prohibit killing animals but give green light to abortion. Im more pro-choice, but seriously?

Someone getting paid to write this crap?
28 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The writing is so childish and full of logic holes. For an example, an inquisitor threats people with lives of a stranger and his families for information she has no idea whether those people possess. If someone knows about the Jedi, they would go for reward and spill right away. If someone wants to protect the Jedi, they are not gonna risk the Jedi themselves for a stranger. So either way, the inquisitor pulls a stunt that would not achieve anything for sure.

And the behavior of that young Jedi is so out of character. There is no way he was trained like a Jedi. And the best part is that the show decides to focus on child Leia, cuz nothing attracts fans more than a little impulsive brat.

Poor Hayden Christensen, probably gonna be bullied online again for the failure of this show.

Let's get rid of the fun and focus on disgusting the audience
21 May 2022
Season 1 was something unique, then the series seemed run out of idea. Season 2 looked hollow and boring. Then, season 3 came out, only with more disappointments. The production team seems really like inserting their "in-depth" lectures and political views into the series, which would be fine if they are really highly educated. Then, there are episodes that solely focuses on disgusting audience with blood, bugs, and organs.

It's really a shame watching this series declining to this level. Even with solid visual effects, the series is dead without solid stories.

A better Transformer movie born way too late
18 May 2022
First of all, this movie is way better than those Michael Bay junks. It's pretty much every thing a transformer fan expected and more. Rather than making identical characters, the director worked on building different ones for each transformer in the movie.

I really like how the script highlights the ferocity and cunning of Decepticons. I think most audience dislike the movie because of the main human character in the movie. Drilling on teenager crap too much would lose young audience and definitely drive away adults.

It's a shame this movie was made years after Michael Bay's series. After all those junks, the audience wouldn't be as thrill and tolerant as before.

The Batman (2022)

It's not for everyone
6 May 2022
I can tell how much efforts the production team put into this movie, trying to create an old-fashion batman movie with dark lighting and dramatic BGM. The movie style is pretty consistent, which means it suits whoever enjoy its dark, rainy style.

The story was decent enough with nice twists and dialogues. I personally, enjoy the talking scene between Bruce and Falcone. Because it shows the struggle within the young Bruce. But the movie was too long, leaving several awkward moments that can be cut. Can't say that I fully appreciate Robert Pattinson's portrait of Batman, but I hate Cat Woman and Gordan more in this movie.

As for action scenes, this Batman literally uses his armor like Iron Man's. For a superhero who is known for his tactics and agility, this one gets shot way too often.

Overall, it's a decent movie with its style if you like the dark theme and can tolerant an impulsive, horny and relatively dumb Batman. But it's not for everyone.

Typical Sam Raimi's work
6 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Just like Sam Raimi's other superhero movies, solid action scenes, but not so good at storytelling nor details. The story is a bit too fast, not many twists await. The lack of ln-depth story makes every expected turns even more predictable and shallow. And the downside of having too many action scenes: the creativity runs out pretty quick and resort to fist fights and shooting CGI lasers.

Although the movie was decent enough to stand alone, I am quite concerned about the whole MCU storyline. Given the ending of Wanda & Vision, I was expecting a reunion somehow. But this movie pretty much deletes Wanda and left previous cliff-hanging unsolved, such as white Vision and Agatha.

Moreover, Sam Raimi certainly doesn't spend efforts to couch actors, which wouldn't be a problem if you don't have child actors in the movie.

Btw, it's very satisfying watching Wanda killing Captain Marvel, especially a more annoying and arrogant version of her.

Not a masterpiece but very decent work
24 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I knew this show is gonna be a hit when I saw that Seth Macfarlane is the creator. His works are not actually masterpiece, but they are certainly way above the average, and I enjoy them all. The jokes in the show are always subtle, and forged with creativity. I wasn't sure that the rest of casts can catch up with Macfarlane's sense of humor. But so far, the show is going great. Almost every characters in the show has left a unique impression reflecting their personalities, which added layers to this comedy.

But to be honest, I was a little disappointed about episode 3 'About a girl'. I guess I just expected more from a brilliant director than some clichés during the trial scene. The argument could be more compelling and sarcastic to suit Macfarlane's style. Instead of Macfarlane's work, I only saw some plain cliché like someone else wrote it. Though the ending of 3rd episode is great. it's sad, but great.

Underrated
20 October 2017
I still remember watching this show when I was a kid. It was really funny and enjoyable. 'Lois & Clark' and 'Police Academy' left me a very deep and wonderful impression. It's understandable that it was not very popular, since Friends pretty much got all the spot lights in comedy area. I gave it '8' since it brought me so many good memories. To be honest, it's a bit out of style, but still a lot better than some TV shows today, mostly those CW garbage. The theme song was identical to the film's and decently made. It's sad that most episodes or even clips are hard to find now.

It's least better than those CW bs
24 October 2016
some old spy TV show remake. It's not bad. It's much better than those CW bs. It has something unique, well, not great but unique. I think the major flaw is this TV show is too fast paced which makes it like junk food. However, it has great potential to be amazing. Or if they want to make this TV show more relaxing, they need to narrow their plots a bit. Maybe less International incidences? or less geniuses that can be found every corner? and change Lucas Still's haircut for god's sake. that 80's hair style might drove half potential audiences away before it aired. Also, brain/arm team is just cliché, try give the other dude some brain.

It's kinda OK
4 October 2016
I won't say it's terrible. It's one of those shows that you would watch when the channel you were watching was playing this. But you don't care if you missed one or several episodes, and you won't change to CW on purpose just to watch this. The cast is OK. The idea of black Jimmy Olsen makes me feel sad about how twisting 'political correct' has become. We have to change the race of characters just to smooth their feelings... The biggest flaw in this show is Melissa Benoist's performance. When I watched this show, I didn't see Kara, just a girl version of Clark Kent. I can accept different ideas, but this 'awkward vs awesome' is not even original. Nice outfit though.

Huge disappointment
6 August 2016
Warning: Spoilers
$20 for this junk is a total rip off. This movie is just another failure from DC. Full of cliché. And what the $^%& with those slow motions? some shitty movies from the 90's? How come they can create a decent Joker in cartoons, but cant find anyone that can play this role correctly? Also nothing crazy on Harley besides some sexual suggestions from time to time. Maybe the director can find better career in porno industry from the 90's. Those 'touching feeling sharing' time are just long awkward moments. Retarded stunt coordinator too, and they call this close to real life military operations? I like DC, but Marvel just can make much better movies than DC.

Disappointing
7 September 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Typical government scheme movie. Eliminating formal agents to cover up despicable plans. This is one of those movies that have better trailers than itself. I think they must pieced up all the funny parts in this movie to make the trailer. And I was one of those who fell for that. I understand that director wants to build up a messed up character, but the way that Jesse Eisenberg talks just make me want to throw up. Unlike the trailer, the movie was badly paced, tons of awkward moments. I think sometimes, even those actors don't know what they are supposed to do in some scenes. Those action scenes are not impressive, since Jason Bourne trilogy has shown us enough of that. The only reason I bought the ticket is that I think this movie can be hilarious. Editing trailers might be a better job for this director.
