The Card Counter (2021)

Absolutely one of the worst movies I've seen.

I'm not sure what they sold the studio to get this greenlit but what they've created is absolutely dreadful. This is a first-year film student's final project, trying to emulate Scorsese and failing miserably. I don't even know what the heck I just watched. Make it go away.

After killing everyone in his way, the city prosecutor played by Jamie Foxx becomes district attorney. He then continues to break the law, in his quest for power. A++ Much wow!

How Stupid Can They Be?

Honestly I flipped it off once I realized it was a Covid episode. I came back only to realize it's literally a rehash of 2020. We've lived a year with Covid and honestly it's a played out nightmare. I don't want to relive it. Just stupid short-sightedness from the writers. It would have been more interesting if they took us into a reality Covid wasn't the focal point. Oh well. I think I'm done with The Good Doctor.

One of the Most Ridiculous Movies I've Seen

It's so bad, it's good? I don't even know how to explain the absurdity going on in this movie. From the power guy/bad guy having cake with the babysitter to everyone believing a dubbed video of the protagonist passed out screwing a hooker is real. Everyone close to him IMMEDIATELY turning on him for absolutely no reason whatsoever to god knows what because I haven't even finished this train wreck. I don't know if someone really wrote the most terrible script in the world or half this movie got left on the editing room floor. God it's bad.

This could have been so good but instead they wanted to take it to 11 with the sci-fi by sacrificing a coherent storyline and anything resembling continuity.

This was a terribly dysfunctional movie with zero redeemable qualities. If you like to sit through manufactured tension for an hour with no resolution, this is your dumpster fire.
