What about the sugar
8 January 2024
First episode was promising but by the second episode it seemed to just promote anti-meat eating and pro plant. I'm only at 2nd episode but they have not discussed sugar - which is worse as it's hidden in a lot of products and causes so many preventable illnesses.

Instead, the show tries to play on the emotions by showing highschoolers, poor black people, left-wing political figures, and a 5 star chef who has made lots of money but now feels guilty about his restaurant's successes from serving meat.

The purpose of this show is not to study the impact of diet on identical twins, it is to make the viewers feel guilty or grossed out enough to cancel meat. Next.

Really wanted to like the show
5 December 2022
First, I'm no military expert, just a girl who doesn't like to have to turn off logic to watch a TV show that's not labeled a comedy.

In reality "wealthy" people's kids in America, as far as I'm aware, do not join the military - and get deployed. Just doesn't happen.

The wifey is annoying tho her resting batch face is probably the most realistic thing on the show. She and Ken Doll hubby have Zero chemistry and the brother's interaction with her feels a bit creepy.

Finally, how is it a dumbo crew can kidnap 2 high profile people & the military is scared off so easily?

Also every new show & movie released has to have the "same" wokey element that has absolutely nothing to do with the story so there has to be a quota for studios/networks to meet.

There's so much dumbness that I'll just leave it at that. Could've been a great show though.

Choose to not watch
17 April 2022
No disrespect to those who liked movie but it starts out intriguing to quickly become an annoying, loud screeching, headache inducing, incoherent ball of dumbness. The fact the managed to also make it boring is a real skill.

If I enjoyed this drivel then it means a certain desperation for escapism so much to actually like it. Minus zeros.

Not bad not great
2 March 2022
Started off good, you want to keep watching to see why the thing happened, what was the thing, who did the thing and is the camera guy an alien.

Some parts they could've totally left out like the drawn out sappy scenes. But even that would've been redeemable if not for that terrible ending.

Excellent
2 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Right from the beginning you see glimpses of what's really behind that face. Such as what really happened w/him & his father? Why did he seem to connect w/the "geek" in the 1st act?

The subtleties are very well done, que meaning of that face down tarot card before the "handy bath" & the newspaper article at the end. There's a voodoo ritual that involves paper in shoes which if applied to the story is interesting.

Very enjoyable & truly defines psychological thriller & made me think about the whole nature nurture thing. And the thing about karma is you don't just get it for negative actions, you also pay for that results from your actions as it impacts others.

Bottom line, don't humiliate & disregard anyone because they could be 100 times more ruthless.

Woke yet sleeping
14 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Four episodes in and this movie is realistic. The only way a Beautiful woman like Mary would ever be interested in an obese, sweaty, weak femdude w/an annoying preteen kid like Gary, is if she had something Majorly wrong with her.

Confusing cure for insomnia
10 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not sure on the motive of this movie. Good actors, bad story. Many things made no sense but I do recommend watching if you're having trouble sleeping. Spoilers:

So Beth dies briefly as a teen. A demon/entity came back with her & wanted her to come back to the nothingness (which sounds like purgatory).

Instead of the demon/entity getting her "Final Destination" style - which he's clearly capable of doing, he tasks her husband w/it. Hubby decides to trick him by sacrificing look-a-like women & building a backward house. Entity is either blind or really stupid but figures out he's been duped & hubby offs himself.

Sidenote: Movies seem to be themed "all men are toxic" even if they're doing something nice. Guy kills people for his wife yet he beds them & the kind old man neighbor treats the wife like a hysterical nutjob instead of thinking it weird seeing Owen take a woman thru the woods. Lately seems a lot of movies are having the toxic masculinity theme.

Dark Humor Comedy
10 October 2021
At first I wasn't sure what genre it was actually trying to be. It's funny but no one is trying to be, but it's the situational humor that's cool.

It kind of reminds me of the 'Santa Clarita Diet' show but there isn't the "over the top-ness" w/this this one.

So far, it seems to get more interesting after the first 2 episodes. Only.

Reflection of Current Times
28 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Started off intriguing & went downhill pretty fast. Predicable, left hanging on things like the bracelet, & what was up w/Lucy's distractingly dry, stiff, hat hair? What annoyed me the most was that contrived semi-woke situation that had nothing to do w/anything (& made me want to throw my shoe at the screen). Listen up, not all Black people want Whites to apologize ok?? Thank you Hollywood but we're perfectly fine. Also that final scene was totally ridiculous & unnecessary.

To those who wish to see this movie
18 May 2021
..run like a forest fire. I have to admit it was nice seeing Shane & Little Finger, & also the beautiful Angelina but this movie was just something "happening". Not much of it interesting. It doesn't explain the beginning scene, no character development, Angie is not believable as "one of the boys". I'm glad it was on HBO max because I'd have been p.o to pay to see in theatre.

Had potential
6 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
First, what decade was the movie set? Old cars, old sounding music, 80s or 90s clothes & hair styles but there were iPhones so yep confusing.

Why couldn't she go home? Why couldn't she sleep? When did she fall into a coma? Was it during the "session" w/the nerd? Thinking no because she saw the glowy eyed people during the "session" so she could have been in coma dreaming then too.

Was the whole movie a coma induced dream? There was so much they could've done w/the story instead of the "oh psych she was coma dreaming" at the end. Very disappointing and annoying.

Watch if you're bored, enjoy if you're boring
4 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
First of all, if hubby knew he's a werewolf, why didn't he use protection when sleeping w/women? You don't get someone prego w/a wolf baby and THEN be like "oh I should probably tell you I'm a werewolf." Really?

Also, why doesn't she teach the Wolf boy to never answer the door, only get her if someone comes? When did he start turning into a wolf? What did she do for a babysitter if he really was a wolf baby? And who goes to someone's house and say "it stinks in here, let me go explore YOUR house to find out what stinks in YOUR house."

The ending wasn't a surprise when wolf boy didn't eat mommy either. What was surprising was how cute that Wolf was.

Truer than most would believe
28 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This movie only scratches the surface on what happens in rehab programs. It was surprising that a person clean just 30 days was allowed to work in such high risk situations, but if he relapsed it would still feed the money beast so They win either way.

Unfortunately I know first hand how They fraud the families of addicts. A close family member went to rehab and it seemed like we were in a timeshare seminar and Their best sales person was the speaker. There was something about these people that was just..grimey. I didn't believe for a moment They believed all the B.S. They were selling but you ignore it as you want the family member off drugs.

Anyway, They found out there was private insurance and wouldn't admit until $5,000 deductible was paid up front. They wouldn't take half or installments. So of course you pay & when you see what They bill the insurance it's even worse.

I was surprised it wasn't included how drug dealers sell at AA meetings and the addict relapses back into rehab, or what happens to people when/how they're thrown out after insurance cap is met. Good film but it might make you P.O. sad, or both.

Should be titled Obsession
19 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This reminds me, I once met a guy who told me he wished he could see what it was like to be me. Well, if he could do what happens in this show, he probably would've. Unique plot that keeps you guessing - even w/or because of the clues. The only thing that didn't make sense was why when Adele texts Louise goodbye, why didn't Louise just say "good riddance psycho" and keep it moving? What did David tell the police? Notice the bird on the table when 'Louise' gets home? Notice the birds loudly in the last scene? It's been thought that birds can carry souls so maybe it isn't the end of Louise's story. The poor son Adam will probably have an accident though.

Interesting and thought provoking
13 January 2021
Here is a movie that will make you think about life, love, choices, destiny, loss, sacrifice and how one thing can not only change your life but those around you also. Yet it manages to Not be boring, cliche, and sappy.

I never expected that ending but it did answer how the one guy changed his timeline and profession. The only critique is there were just a couple of unnecessary scenes but all said, it's a refreshing film where it leaves you happy and semi-sad (awww) at the same time.

Awake and sleepy show
12 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
First of all, there have been similar shows that have done a better job at the faux reality schtick (Black Mirror, even Upload) but this seemed to start off one way, and ended up w/an almost completely different story.

I get what they were trying to do as the main character walks in the customer's shoes and yes life is pointless, absurd, the world's a stage we're merely it's actors yada yada. But why wasn't there a contingency plan for when someone dies playing the boring game? Sidenote - why was Michelle wearing that stiff thrift-store looking suit?

Really annoying trying to rationalize silliness but its always good to see "Strand" from Fear TWD.

The multi verse idea has so much potential. The show Fringe is an example of making that idea interesting. This is a drama where the main story is relationships/friendships, not much sci-fi. Started out decent enough, then by 2nd half seemed like a totally different movie as it became a muddled, boring soap opera.

He left his binky..
20 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This too long movie was funny but it wasnt supposed to be. Each scene you could predict what every silly selfish character would do.

Get a text from the higher ups that says leave now cause the fireballs are in your area. Of course you don't leave immediately, you continue to talk w/neighbors.

When you finally get to the place & fight your way in, you cave to your 9 yr old spoiled child's demands to go back out & get his binky from the car, well he also has to get the kids meds but a responsible mom would've made sure She had them.

Also there's a back of the truck scene & they switched one of the actors mid scene. As if no one would notice they even had different voices.

At the end of course the awful family survives. They're allowed to just walk off into the burned up world, like 'ok everyone have at it.' Wouldn't every living thing be gone anyway if the meteor was even bigger than the one that killed the dinosaurs? Yes. So there would be no bunker once the meteor hit. Just like the media, the people who made this movie thinks we're stupid too. Terrible movie. You might be mad if spending $20.

Misleading title
12 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
When it comes to movies, the audience should believe the characters and understand the behavior and situations.

At first I thought this would be like "Quarry", the excellent one season show but No. Instead here's a movie that tried to be too many things at once, some scenes so awkwardly badly acted I felt embarrassed for them. There are a few potholes they try to explain in drawn out crying scenes which is so silly why bother.

And the unlikely fair maiden/damsel in distress who just learned how to shoot saves all the black people who happen to be great cooks and are somehow magical baby whisperers. Best thing about this movie was the music.

The entire second season is annoying, slow, unrealistic, and because I'm not a quitter, stuck thru to the last episode but by the time I actually got to the last episode I wished they'd just eat all the dam berries and move on.

4 December 2020
The finale almost seemed like a phone in. It was all over the place. You figure out halfway thru the episode that it's opposite day; because they do everything opposite of what would follow previous episodes. If there's a season 2 and it's anything like the finale it'll be skipped by me.

Not for the faint of heart
1 December 2020
Pleasantly surprised at this show, good story line with a Shakespearean Tarantino vibe. Keeps you guessing and several "wait...did that just happen?" moments. Especially the anxiety inducing bad as episode 5 season 1.

If you get grossed out easily or have a heart condition don't watch it.

The American Dream is Dead
24 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This reminded me of what George Carlin said about the "American Dream". From the beginning there's foreshadowing of what's to come. I give the people who made this movie credit for the cleverness but there was a lot missing. Basically:

1) If you buy a house you may end up burying yourself in it.

2) The system is ran by powerful beings which are a mystery to buyers.

3) Everyone, including real estate agents are dispensable and used by a faceless nameless system to meet it's needs - whatever those are the movie leaves you to figure that out so good luck with that.

Could be decent
9 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Three episodes in and trying to stay with it but so far it's a bit too implausible. 1) A guy armed with a gun can run thru an airport and get on a plane. Maybe in a cartoon but highly unlikely even outside US. Dude would get a serious beat down... it is still post 911 2) No emergency/contingency supplies or protocol on the plane in event of a cracked window so it's best to just ignore and hope it goes away 3) Getting away from bad guys and not even trying to get one of the MANY vacant cars to drive back to safety. Instead just try ONE car with locked doors, then drop to your knees and cry. And the ridiculous bickering gets old.

I'm bored right now so may watch one more episode but if they keep doing dumb stuff, I'm going to boil some eggs and sweep the floor - again :\

Don't watch before going to sleep
7 April 2020
This show had so much potential but too depressing. I'm all for the cerebral sci-fi stories but not so dark that I wanted to risk going out for a box of Oreos to feel better after sitting thru an episode. The slowness didn't bother me as I used fast on the drawn out scenes but some characters behave in ways no one would. It's based off paintings so I have to give credit to the creative but they could have had at least ONE episode end on a positive note. If you watch before bed do some jumping jacks or watch cartoons first.
