Aankhon Dekhi!!
3 September 2016
As the name and the theme of movie suggests, it's better to watch Aankhon dekhi on your own to feel and understand the magic rather than relying on reviews. Its a pity that very few people have heard about this gem of a movie. In the big factory of bollywood that churne all glam sham non sense mockery of logic movies , Aankhon dekhi comes as a fresh breeze. The irony that humor can convey so many serious meaning to life is beautifully depicted by Rajat Kapoor and his brilliant team. Hats of to Rajat for assembling the perfect cast that brings life to each characters. Sanjay Mishra as Babuji trying to find the meaning and truth of life and Seema Pahwa as his wife who is trying to cope up with Babuji's antics is awesome. A soulful Cinema that touches your heart! Aankhon dekh lo aur fir maan lo..

Chenkol (1993)
10/10
Tale of a prince who looses his crown and sceptre.
31 January 2015
Chenkol; the sceptre tells the story of SethuMadhawan after his release from prison. The movie is a sequel to classic Kireedam. Circumstances gets bad to worst for Sethu. He struggles to live a normal life after prison and finds new enemies. The genius of Lohi Sibi team combined with the magical acting of Mohanlal takes you to a world full of despair and makes you wonder about the impact society and circumstances can have on an individual. Lohithadas weaves story from his heart with a pinch of humanity. Mohanlal lives the role of poor Sethu. I remember an interview in which Sibi Malayail mentioned that Mohanlal's acting in Chenkol is better than Kireedam. You can't disagree as he carries the movie and makes audience sympathize with SethuMadhawan. The movie proves yet again that every cell in Mohanlal's body can act. The supporting cast does a sincere job. Johny and Kochin Haneefa are surprise packages in this movie. Must watch for Malayalam movie fans !!!

Bhramaram (2009)

Mohanlal at his best yet again :)
22 November 2014
After Kazhcha and Tanmathra I had great expectation from a Blessy movie.Bhramaram is yet another masterpiece from this brilliant director that will leave you with an impact. The only flaw in the movie is lack of strong side characters. Suresh Menon is a great mimic and comedy artist however didn't fit the role perfectly. The movie might not appeal to everyone due to the theme and low life of the main protagonist. Howeverif you are a serious cinema lover Bhramaram will not disappoint you. Again the reason is Lalettan, Bhramaram belongs to our greatest actor. Bhramaram presented him with a perfect opportunity to display all the emotions and to be in his elements. He depicts the innocence, madness, ruthless cruelty, anger, frustration of ShivanKutty, a poor man ; victim of his circumstances. The actor continues to mesmerize me with such performances and make me realize that I am too lucky to witness him. Watch Bhramaram for this Mahanadan :)

Devasuram (1993)

Neelan..One of the most powerful character witnessed in movies..
16 November 2014
Mangalasheri Neelakandan, the name itself creates awe and hero worship. Easily the most powerful characters created in Malayalam cinema. Neelkandan, the feudal lord is cruel, alcholic, male chauvinist, goes to any extend for his win. He is a great patron of arts and proud of his family heritage. I just don't want to go into contents of Devasuram as there are no words to describe the beauty of this masterpiece. Full marks to the director for ensuring that the heroism of Neelan is depicted by the tiniest of characters. Devasuram belonged to I.V.Sasi the director, Ranjith for his heart touching script and all the actors in the movie be it Nedumudi Venu, Revathi, Napolean and so on. But above all Devasuram and Mangalasheri Neelakandan would never be a part of your soul without the genius of Mohanlal. The genius makes you wonder with his subtle acting whether displaying the anger, sorrow or helplessness of Neelan. Sir its a honor and privilege to be a mallayali and watch you in on screen. For me the story of Devasuram ends there and don't want to see Ravanaprabhu the sequel. Because Neelan is one the most powerful character to appear in cinema and the sequel don't justify it.

Kireedam (1989)

Story of a good hearted man fighting his circumstances
16 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Kireedam always leaves a sadness in your heart and a hope that SethuMadhavan somehow manages to escape his harsh circumstances. Hats off to Sibi Sir and Lohithadas for creating the character SethuMadhavan. He is the perfect son to a father and gives his life for his family. No actors in the world could ever display such array of emotions as Tilakan and Mohanlal. Some of the scenes will leave u heartbroken yet makes you wonder about the magnitude of acting skills of these legends. Some of the scenes are heart touching and especially after the final fight scene. Only Mohanlal and only Mohanlal could have brought such emotions. Kireedam will leave an impact with you that will remain forever in your life. A movie that should never have been remade and left on its own.
