First, I was impressed that this short film was made by an all-female crew. There are lots of talented women trying to make in-roads into the film industry, and hopefully small independent films like this will help pave the way to greater opportunities with big budgets! As for The Pink Dress itself, my friends and I saw it at a festival screening and enjoyed the wry humor of following the dress through its several lives--we found the ending very poignant but also a strong comment on exploitation of the poor. We loved how the dress goes through changes and it changes people along the way, even giving the homeless woman a little "magic".
