The Undoing (2020)

Very Captivating Psychological Thriller
9 March 2021
I felt compelled to leave a review after seeing all of these low reviews. This definitely does not deserve two or three stars. I think people didn't like the ending but to me it was based on reality. It keeps you guessing and I didn't really honestly know what was going to be the outcome which I appreciated. The acting by Kidman and Grant was simply stellar and the supporting cast was fantastic as well. It really made you think and for that I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Wow! What did I just watch?
16 February 2021
Oh where to begin? Let me just say that the scariest thing in my mind was that I wasted 90 minutes of my life on this film (if you can call it that). Was it supposed to be scary or funny? Quite honestly it was neither. I decided to clip my toenails towards the middle because that was more entertaining. I really should have known better. Shame on me.

Very Disturbing and Realistic
15 February 2021
I think what made this an incredibly disturbing and stressful movie for me was that I could actually see something like this happening. Overall it was very well done and much better than I expected it to be, especially since it was an indie. Despite that, it had a very good production and the acting was very solid all the way around, especially by the lead actress. She was kick ass and I appreciated this. I actually had to look away a few times and I kind of got a sick feeling to my stomach, so I know that it is good because of that. To me, when a movie can bring out emotions like that it is the sign of a good movie. Other movies of the same genre didn't have as much of an impact as this did. I credit the very good direction, sound, production values, and quite good acting. I definitely won't see again because of the content, but I would definitely recommend if you want to be scared and sit on the edge of your seat.

Stupid Girl
18 January 2021
I'm sorry, but why is it that many lead women in horror films being chased always have to run INTO buildings as opposed to run out of them and keep running? I was yelling at this girl lead several times out of frustration. Towards the end I just wanted her to die and get it over with. It had potential and I will say the photography and sets were good. The director also did a good job with creating a creepy mood. I just can't get over some of the dumb decisions made by this girl. For that reason I give it 5 out of 10.

Good but not great
26 December 2020
I had real high hopes because I loved the first one so much. This one was a letdown I must say, but still was good nonetheless. It didn't have as much action as I would have liked and the CGI looked a bit fake. The story was a bit cheesy in parts but I still enjoyed it as entertaining. I loved seeing Kristen Wiig in the role of a villain. I thought she did a great job. I probably would have preferred to see the role of Pedro Pascal given to a bigger star. He did a decent job but the casting was a bit odd to me. Of course Gal Gadot is wonderful and makes a great Wonder Woman.

Entertaining series.... not perfect but good
13 December 2020
I have to say I love the Hardy boys and Nancy Drew mysteries from the '70s. I read some of the books, but didn't read all of them. I will say it has a edgier twist than previous versions. But it doesn't make it any less entertaining. I think the actor who portrays Joe was quite good. It does drag a bit towards the middle but then will pick up again just when I am getting a little bit bored. It kept me wanting to see more episodes so that is a good sign. I am not a reviewer who compares films or series to the books that they're based on so keep that in mind. I look at things individually and don't try to compare every little thing to what's in the books. Y ou may be disappointed if you want something exactly like the books. But from my point of view, I feel although it isn't exceptional I think it is a solid effort and worth a watch.

Better Than Expected
17 June 2018
I'm actually not a huge Woody Allen fan. But I must say that this film sucked me in and held my attention the entire time. I could kind of see where it was going, but the production values and especially the acting was top notch. I actually even enjoyed the dialogue and felt Kate Winslet should have received an Academy award nomination. I don't believe she did but she blew me away. Jim Belushi was quite good as well, Timberlake was decent too. All in all it was worth the watch, but a pretty sad movie to me. I thought the ending was perfect despite many people feeling it just ended. I feel that's how life is sometimes, not always happening or ending the way we expect. A very solid movie in my book.
