Girl in Flight (II) (2017)
9/10
Adventures of a young girl
13 October 2017
Just saw this film at the Woodstock FILM Festival. Well done movie. Casting excellent, as well as the cinematography. One of my favorite shots was the sunrise coming through a trailer window in Rome, stunning. The two young girls were wonderful, as well as the rest of the cast. Bravo for showing the racism that occurs, as well as exploring depression. Showing how these things effect so many.

young girls thoughts put to use through a dreary winter
10 April 2016
I thought this was a very good movie about coming of age. It touched on a lot of themes that are relevant. It had a varied cast but I especially liked that the main characters were women and held the movie by themselves without really revolving around a man or men. I would like to see a lot more of this type of movie in Hollywood, what a great change that would be. I felt all the actors did a great job and I was definitely impressed with Eden Brolin since it was her first film. One could not tell that, she seemed polished, did a wonderful job. The cinematography was beautiful showing the frozen Hudson River and other pretty sights in the wonderful small town in upstate NY of Saugerties. It made the movie feel homey and inviting. Thanks so much for enjoyable entertainment.

Lee's 88 Keys (2015)

the wild, historic, exciting life in and of Lee Shaw, jazz pianist
2 October 2015
Director Susan did a wonderful job of bringing Lee Shaw to all of us. And all of us need Lee Shaw, not only because she is a gifted musician but because of her zest for life. the movie was so wonderful and uplifting. It was just so enthralling to watch, to feel like we shared a little something with Lee Shaw and it is something all of us get to bring home as a good feeling with us. And we hope we will remember & keep this with us a long time. I would love to go visit her. Just saw this in Saugerties NY @ the Woodstock Film Festival - great job, thanks In summary, it gives a background of how her music interest started & progressed. Her band mates & friends are interviewed and there is a lot of good footage from many of her gigs & we hear the great music, also shows a lot of the historic names she has been associated with. goes on to show how famous many of her students have become & where she is with her life now. I just loved hearing her wise advice and witnessing her vibrant personality, which the director really brought across in this film, I felt.

Altered Minds (2013)

masterful mystery
20 October 2014
Saw this at Woodstock film festival and it was a well crafted story that I thought was excellent. Stars Judd Hirsch, and the whole cast were great. The camera shots/cinematography were well done and I thought the music score was also very fitting, eerie. There are many twists and turns in the plot/storyline that will keep you wondering through the whole movie. Also liked the allegories they used, interesting additions that added to the mystery. The audience clapped at the conclusion so it seemed it was very well enjoyed by the entire theater. I would recommend this to anyone to see, as I feel they would be thoroughly entertained.
