Let the Lead Actor Never Act Again!!
25 February 2024
This movie was sooooooo dumb! The lead actor is a joke! How did she get a lead role? Her startled facial expression was a permanent feature no matter the scene and it was really annoying. The script was written by idiotss and made no sense. Then her lawyer slept in full makeup... so ridiculous. Seriously this movie is bad for a Lifetime movie and that says a lot.

I never want to see the lead actress act again yet apparently lifetime tripled down with her with three movies in 2023.... Two are still to be released! Good Lord!! She must know somebody because she can't act whatsoever. A three year could do a better performance.

Mea Culpa (2024)
2/10
Mea Crapola !
24 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I like Tyler Perry comedy films however his thrillers are seriously lacking logic. Mea Culpa is a dumpster fire of a film!

Mea tried to come across as a smart, strong and professional lawyer yet she makes increasingly dumb idiotic decisions.

-Mea is "repping" a dude on trial for murdering his girlfriend and the evidence she feels is overwhelming.

-He shows what a nice guy he is by trying to make her look unprofessional by riding with him on his motorcycle in a leather skirt.

-He is sexually aggressive with his lawyer. It would make anyone question his guilt but not Mea.

  • He continues to disrespect her by getting her to follow him into a sex club that just happens to be in his apartment complex (ridiculous)

  • He confesses his love and two seconds later he is having sex with a neighbor in front of Mea to teach her a lesson.

  • He did all this after she wanted him to respect her boundaries! And her response was F off, find a new lawyer and you're disgusting. NOPE, all of his moves makes her throw caution to the wind and chuck her brain out the window.

  • The sex scene with all the paint was so dumb! Sooo cheesy!!

  • She finds the supposed dead girlfriend by mistake half way around the world but instead of catching her she flies home to her mother in law who hates her.

I'm not going to bother talking about her family dynamics other than to say it was completely ridiculous and beyond unrealistic.

This movie is awful. A good thriller with twists have to make sense and this one did not. If you like Lifetime movies for a laugh, you may like this one though.

They Disney-fied One of The Darkest Vampire Stories
8 November 2022
I loved the Original Swedish, American version, and the book but they really screwed up the series in so many ways. The series is bubble gum.

The originals were unapologetically bold and dark and put a fresh twist on an old story. This was during a time when things like Vampire Diaries and Twilight made it sexy instead of scary.

I am five episodes in and with each one I can't wait for it to be over. The girl vampire is so wrong for this role. She acts like she is 12 even though she is much older. She is not scary at all and one dimensional. The boy character is adorable but again not right for this.

The atmosphere and music is also bubble gum and the lighting is even wrong. It feels like any other generic series on NBC, CBS, etc. Nothing special here.

If they are going to deviate SO far from the original characters and story they should have named it something else because it doesn't do any of the originals justice.

The only thing that is similar between the series and the originals is she moves into an apartment with her keeper and is transported in a chest. That's it.

Excellent Psychological Paranormal Thriller!
4 November 2022
I recommend this movie to anyone that likes supernatural thrillers, psychological thrillers, and/or cerebral and thought provoking entertainment.

When I saw it was rated PG-13 I knew it wasn't going to be a gore fest and it was not. It's a coming of age story about a boy who befriends a reclusive billionaire. Donald Sutherland has to be one of my favorite character actors and he really was excellent. I loved the synergy between him and the boy.

The story is spooky and classic Stephen King. If you are looking for super scary this may not be your movie. If you enjoy this movie I suggest his new book called Fairytale, it's also a coming of age story about a kid who befriends a lonely old man.

God Bless Unwoke Crude Humor
29 October 2022
I fully expected this movie to be lame but we laughed throughout the film. The humor was really crude and reminded of 90s slapstick comedies. It had funny humor and the man's phone roasts him throughout the movie. Who would ever think they could make a robotic Alexa-like voice funny!! That's no easy feat, it takes really good comedy writers to pull it off and they did it spades.

I love the fact that this movie dared to be bold with crude language and nudity. The humor was way inappropriate and I LOVED that. It follows the standard RomCom format but stayed over the top funny. Haven't laughed this hard at a comedy in a long time. I definitely recommend.

Left Room for a Season 2, Here's What it Could Be...
28 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed this psychological thriller series. The acting was phenomenal and the situation was very interesting. I love that the show took risks. Nobody likes to kill off a favorite character but they did. It made the show unpredictable which is quite rare with thrillers these days.

I think the series could easily be made into another season because let's be real, he is going to get bored being chained up and his mom will totally let him out. She said she couldn't say no to him ever. Once he is free he is going to look for and capture a new therapist because in his mind therapy kinda worked and he wants to be better.

Maybe with a new season they could focus on the killers perspective so we can dive deeper into his mind. I think there is a lot more to explore with his character and maybe Steve C could be his therapist in his head like Steve had one in his. Just thoughts. No matter, I would watch a second season.

Dead Silence

The Genesis For So Many Future Characters

I was reading a Reddit post about the best horror movies and someone recommended this one and said it was underrated so I decided to give it a try. It starts off a bit slow and felt a bit cheesy but I felt it had potential.

The movie definitely gets better as it goes on. It's interesting to see glimpses of characters like Annabelle and that creepy lady with black hair in the picture frame, I believe in the Conjuring. Glimpses of the devil in Insidious too. This movie is where Wann gave birth to these monsters. For that it's worth watching.

So So Bad!
21 September 2022
Ambulance is hardly worth the effort writing 600 characters about this film.

This movie was so dumb that I really didn't want to waste any more of my time writing a review. I'm giving it a 4 because the cast was good but the dialogue and story was super super dumb. Honestly, I lost brain cells watching this long movie. People that gave this rubbish high reviews must have pretty low standards.

Holy Dumb!

The plot had lots of holes and suspension of disbelief is an understatement to make it through this soggy turd sandwich. I recommend you pretty much watch anything else instead of wasting your time on this. It's packed with unbelievable action scenes however if that's your jammy jam.

Very Enjoyable
21 September 2022
I have come to love Korean thrillers as of late and this one does not disappoint.

It's a wild ride that had me guessing until the end. "Forgotten" had me wondering if it was a horror movie, mystery, drama, science fiction, fantasy, supernatural, or psychological thriller. That's part of the fun so I won't spoil it.

The acting is excellent, especially the main actor. The dynamic between the characters was well done too. I suggest you pay close attention to everything. I recommend this to anyone that likes a puzzle and enjoys good movie making. It will not disappoint.

This film won't easily be forgotten.

Check Your Brain at the Door
13 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is a soggy turd sandwich, seriously leave your brain at the door. The plot is weak. It's fueled with racist stereotypes about white and black people. The acting was fine but I feel like I've seen Queen L play this type of character too many times. Then you have the action scenes filled with so many impossibilities. It's like I could say, what is the dumbest thing someone could do right now and that's what would happen. Then the ending!!! If you just got a pile of stolen loot that you were just chased for... Money that got people killed...Would you take out plastic wrapped stacks of cash, display it on the dining table in the middle of a diner and say pass the syrup? The suspension of disbelief is just too much! Also is the movie trying to be a comedy, horror movie, or thriller? There's also no character development at all.

This movie is truly a soggy turf sandwich. How it's number one on Netflix doesn't say much for movies right now.

Intriguing Story
8 September 2022
I just finished the show and do hope for a season two. The story is a psychological mystery thriller and lives up to this throughout the season. It will have you guessing who is guilty and who is innocent and what are the motives behind everyone. There are lots of moving parts and a slow but steady build that left me wanting more. I really hope we get a season two as there are a lot of things left unknown and we the audience deserve to see this one through to the very end.

The girl who plays Sophie did a great job. I loved her in the Morning show and The Black Mirror so it was nice to see her getting this leading role. She deserves it and hope to see her in more things.

Deserves Better Ratings!
4 September 2022
This movie was fun to watch. I was yelling at the tv the whole time feeling mental! Good acting, I didn't know what was going to happen next which is rare. They took a lot of risks which made the film way better. I just couldn't wait to see what happened next.

I recommend to anyone that enjoys psychological thrillers or serial killer movies.

It says my review is too short but it's not so I'm adding some nonsense below to push it through. Great movie, should have more that a 6.0 in my humble opinion. Netflix was kind to bring this movie to my living room screen. Thank you Netflix for giving me a fun Saturday night. You are officially my best friend. More movies like "I came by" please.

Some Closure
30 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I followed Paul's story when Barbara Waltera covered this a long time ago and was fascinated. So when this documentary popped up I dove right in looking for answers! I was afraid there would be nothing new learned but that was not the case. I had no idea Paul had the legendary CeCe Moore working on his case and knew if anyone could solve this, it would be her.

There was some closure but what I don't understand is why the FBI kidnapping case remains unsolved. They found out who the kidnapped child was and they were raised by a single woman. It was a woman who came into the hospital dressed like a nurse and took him out of his mothers arms. The grandkids mentioned their grandmother in present tense so she is alive!! Why didn't the FBI knock down her front door to interrogate her? If it was her then where is the justice?

I hope Paul's real siblings connect with him eventually and he finds his twin. It's just so sad. Great documentary! Unfortunately we do not have all the answers yet but maybe more will come with time!

This is such a lame documentary. If your interested in Sasquatch you will be disappointed. If you love true crime you will find this boring. It's about drug dealers killing each other, nothing else.

What a Psycho!!!
11 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Imagine craving attention so much that you would fake your way into a 9/11 survivor group! The way she tried to overshadow actual survivors with her own fake tales is disgusting. It must be similar to those with munchausen by proxy syndrome.

There is no way she leads a normal honest life now. People like her can't stop this level of psychopathy.

If you like slow burn thrillers this one is great. It kept me guessing the whole time. It starts off sort of slow but stick with it. Eric Bana is good in it too.

Break out the Xanax Claustrophobics!
7 August 2022
This movie is impressive and even though I knew the outcome it was completely tense and deeply immersive. Maybe knowing it was a real situation added to my anxiety. My heart was literally pounding over the tight spaces and made my claustrophobia sky rocket. Xanax was the only way for me to watch the whole film.

I liked that no one was portrayed having huge egos, just humble hero's that put their life on the line. It was interesting to see how they worked through the ethical issues. The rescue was a group effort and the outcome was truly a miracle. I hope these kids got psychological counseling afterwards because the PTSD from the experience must be strong.

I think Ron Howard knocked this one out of the park.

Those that don't get it need to understand the franchise had to evolve. Predator had become a stale concept, but Prey held my attention. It felt fresh without completely leaving its roots. It was very enjoyable.

Felt Like a Lifetime Movie Only Longer
29 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It felt like a Lifetime movie only with the F word included. Unfortunately it needed more than the F word to hold my attention for six episodes. Too many flashbacks and too many impossibilities. She survives all sorts of trauma without a scratch. She should have died or at least broke a bone but nope.

Alba Too Weak Along with Dimwit Brother
22 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This show was total drama.... The elitist turd sandwiches who never hear the word no. Then Alba who was incredibly weak throughout... there really wasn't any character development for her. It would have been better if she saved herself at the end. I mean they did show her learning kick boxing. Then her dumb brother Tono who was the worst actor. Seriously how was he cast? Then the sister in law who got money for the ring. Why didn't we get to see a confrontation between her and Alba? Alba was a weak character. Alba should have popped her one. In the end there wasn't enough justice. I wanted to see the rapists behind bars and the other turds punished but we never get to see it. Boo!

A Largely Corrupt Police Force That Prays on The Poor
21 July 2022
This documentary is not just about the Butcher of Delhi but also the corruption with police and attitudes towards the poor. The police in India seem to lack resources and are understaffed so they cherry pick cases. The poorest people get the least protection and some police are actually predatory towards them by forcing bribes to simply exist without harassment. So there is a lot of corruption.

The police in this case seemed to have good intentions but I think they are understaffed. They don't have time to dig into a case so they move on to easier cases. The biggest demonstration of this was when they had the name of a victim tattooed on their arm yet they couldn't identify the body. Pretty pathetic police work. They also only keep unidentified bodies for 72 hours. This all seems like the perfect storm for a clever serial killer to settle into an area that is largely ignored and marginalized. If the killer wasn't so sloppy and obnoxious he probably could have stayed undetected.

Mockumentary Not Documentary
15 July 2022
This film makes no mention that it's a mockumentary and I find that predatory. Had I known it was fake I wouldn't have watched it. I was believing the story up until they receive a video. At that point the suspension of belief was blown and left me mad for wasting my time. If it was a real documentary I would have given it a higher rating but I feel like this is a bait and switch scheme.

Bamberski is a Modern Day Hero
14 July 2022
I love watching true crime stories and this one is quite excellent. It's in a couple other languages but I just read the English captions. The story is about a fathers love and dogged determination to get Justice for his daughter. He went to extreme lengths even when everyone thought he was crazy. I highly recommend this one to anyone that loves true crime documentaries.

Wow!!
14 July 2022
If you want to be surprised by a film go into this one with no information. This movie surprised me over and over and as a horror buff, that rarely happens. What's so creepy about this movie is that it could happen. The chemistry was great with the main characters. The music was delightful too. I don't like gore films but this one is quite tame in that department. I would call this a psychological horror with some comic relief where it's needed but make no mistake... it's not a comedy.

Ignore the Bad Reviews
7 July 2022
I watched this movie with no expectations and really enjoyed it. If you like movies like Silence of the Lambs or other serial killer movies then you will like this too. The cast is great and I enjoyed the villain. It also took some risks with some twists I didn't anticipate.
