My favorite show right now
4 March 2023
The casting for this is great. Harrison Ford is awesome, dry wit and delivery so good, Jason Segal's facial expressions absolutely send me. Luke, Lukita, Michael, Christa and let us not forget the amazing Jessica all mesh so well. The story lines are slow and believable.

Introducing the sub plots as we go along. And every episode ends on a little cliff hanger. The only thing that is throwing me off a bit is I am finding Christa's character to be a bit too much like her scrubs and Cougar town character in terms of how she interacts with people and how she treats her husband. Ah well I suppose that can be expected considering the history and the relationships involved with the actors and writers.

Ramy: Uncle Naseem (2020)
Season 2, Episode 9

Surprised
12 September 2022
In my opinion, this episode was the whole package.

Watched it twice. Once then immediately again to pick up the nuance.

Well written, directed, edited and above all acted. From Uncle Naseem's dinner date/advice seeking partner, through the store owner, the ex from his past and his wife straight to his sauna partner.

I went to Laith Nakli's imdb page expecting to see a pluthora of awards and nominations and was surprised to not see any listed. What a hidden gem of an actor. I will certainly look for his other work.

Thank you all for this episode full of so many simple yet at the same time complicated emotions.

Thought this was interesting

As a person that has read Michael Peterson the whole story line was interesting.

Thought the acting was great too. Enjoyed it.

What I did not enjoy was all the wigs. So many of the cast members were costumed in obvious wigs and I found it distracting. Why do this?

Only one episode in ....

........ and I am hooked. It's relatable. I think for so many people, it will be. Maybe not all of it. But pieces of it.

Jeff Hiller. So good. Love the casting so far in general.

And that scene at the end has broken my heart. But in a good way.

Why is everyone dragging on this so badly?

There is way worse out there.

You can tell just by the trailer it's not going to be some great drama whodunit so why critique it that way?

I think it is entertaining and there are parts of it that made me laugh. The lead actor is funny. I think it is worth the time.

Amazing Acting
8 August 2020
Ok. This episode does lack. Not a lot happens. Other reviewers have fleshed that out. But let's not overlook the actor in this episode. She is good. Very good. She carried this thing on her own from being something I would normally move away from to something I watched to the end. I am going on a hunt now to find other things with her in it. Let's all just appreciate some great acting.

Run (I) (2020)

I like it

Wow. This work is really bothering people. I don't know why. I am really enjoying the adventure. The main characters are not meant to be likeable. The entire story is based on something that they are doing that is completely selfish. Don't have to be in love with the characters to enjoy the story. There are certain interactions that would probably never happen in real life and they are only preludes to set up scenes that part is disappointing. Such as Ruby's husband just walking away with the kids in episode 7 . Obviously to give Ruby and Billy a chance to chat. But I feel in real life he would at least have some sort of statement regarding the situation and a few choice words. But I am really enjoying the acting of Domhill Gleeson and the facial expressions and timing of the dialogue responses (is that a term?) from Tamara Podemski with her scenes with Phoebe are so good. Well that is what I have to say about that. I will continue to watch.

LOL!

This was so good I had to watch it a few times. One liners, slapstick type hijinx. Great Cameos. So going to miss Modern Family.

These other reviewers are harsh. I am a fan of the show and rewound the end a few times just to see William Macy doing his thing. And Vee reminds me of a friend of mine she is so natural in her character.

Casual approach to tragic violience
27 May 2018
Enjoyed this because of the actors in it more than the plot. Individual character development was fun but not too deep. The scene with Stephen Root and Glen Fleshler at the dinner table was brilliant. And I generally love anything with Henry Winkler in it. The overarching approach to just casually gunning down people in cold blood has always bothered me about American television and film and this series doesn't bring anything new to that premise. But I suppose one would expect this kind of lack of empathy from a tv series based on a hitman.

Stunning
12 March 2018
Was settled into a comfortable binge watch and was thoroughly enjoying the fun story lines, quirky characters, the music and the actors in this series. Then this episode crept up on me and hit me like a ton of bricks. The one camera documentary style, the interviews of the inmates and the cuts to the facial expressions of the venerable "maestro" were just beautiful. A next level artistic achievement in a weekly tv series.

A Journey in more ways than one
17 September 2014
Wonderful! My plan was to watch a few minutes to get a taste (just one potato chip) press pause, do some chores and then come back to watch the rest. So I sat on the edge of my chair prepared for a snack, pressed play, … 90 minutes later, the movie was over, I had not sat back, and the entire bag of chips was gone! My snack had turned into a feast. The physical effort and sometimes personal risk of the documentarian for the sake of the film is admirable. A deceptively simple, visually magnificent, spiritual film. I will be seeking Gaurav Jani's other work 'One Crazy Ride' in hopes that it is just as captivating. Color me an official fan.
