Last Shift (I) (2014)
5/10
It had potential
20 September 2015
Warning: Spoilers
The only reason I'm not giving this movie any less than a five is because it actually had me intrigued for a while.

Short storyline. It's about police rookie Jessica Lorren (Juliana Harkavy) on he first shift ever as a police officer. She is just suppose to watch the place for the night, but soon finds out she is not alone. Not alone indeed.

The movie takes great advantage over a small set and makes the environment creepy, as well as she being alone there is another factor to why its creepy. There are some good timed jump scares, so unsettling moments where i kinda wanna know what is going on. The acting is not very good, but fair to be a budged kind of movie, there is nothing special about the screenplay, the score or any of that stuff, but it's decent. Technically everything is not too shabby. The really cool thing was the concept and how the story could be awesome.

Now here's the deal breaker. The last 20 minutes are stupid in my opinion. It's actually so dumb and thoughtless and a shame to the build up. I'm not gonna spoil anything if you wanna give it a go, but you will most likely be disappointed at the end.

The Wave (2015)
6/10
6.5! Decent :)
28 August 2015
The movie is about a geologist that discovers some weird activity in the mountains in Åkneset (Norway) They discover that unless they evacuate the whole city in time, a piece of the mountain will fall into the water and create a monster wave of 80m that will crush everything in its path. So now the geologist played by Kristoffer Joner is doing everything in his power to save his family and his beloved small town.

Short review. Great special effect, good score, good acting. Predictable script and lacks depth, but is still good enough entertainment for the whole family :) There is nothing revolutionary or new about this, but hey! Isn't it always pleasurable when things are done right?

Ps, it's also interesting that this is actually something that has happened before and might happen again!

Final thoughts...GO CHECK IT OUT!

Cake (II) (2014)
6/10
Great concept for reality, but lacks a punch and suffers from loose ends

The movie is about a woman presumably in her mid 40's. She suffers from chronic pain and prescription drug abuse. She finds out that a woman in her support group commits suicide and gets obsessed with her life, so she pays a visit to her husband which is now alone with his son. She now hallucinate and goes back and forward whether she wants to choose life or not.

The movie works well as a concept and gives a good reality feel, but as a movie it lacks the extra punch. Now it's well produced. The cinematography is good and Jenifer Aniston does a great job (maybe her best yet)..However, the script is a little bit cheesy. Specially the parts where Sam Worthington ( Roy Collins ) talks about his wife and acts all hardcore

There is a lot loose ends in the movie they do not capture, and that kind of makes it loose a little bit depth and excitement as far as a movie go. It starts off so well, but it kinda drags on after that. There are a lot of things in the movie that just doesn't make sense as well.

Anyway! If you are bored a Saturday night and can't find anything else to watch, id still recommend you check it out! It's a decent movie, suffering from common flaws, but just to see Jenny's performance is worth it :) !!! GG
