Prize Fighter (1993 Video Game)
7/10
Fun once you get the hang of it
6 March 2018
Prize Fighter is a boxing video game developed by Digital Pictures and released by Sega for its Sega CD in 1993. Like other Digital Pictures titles, it is an interactive movie utilizing full motion video. As far as i know it was never released for any other system except Sega CD.

Played entirely from a first-person perspective, the game casts players as an upstart boxer known as "The Kid", who must fight a series of opponents (played by Jimmy Nickerson, Manny Perry, Billy Lucas and Ben Bray and win the championship.

This is one of the first games i got when i got my Sega CD system back in the 1990's and i still play it occasionally up to this day. It's lots of fun once you get the hang of it and it also has a training mode that shows arrows on the screen to help you along the way.

During matches, players punch and block to defeat the opponent, each of whom has a different style. Between fights, cut scenes play in which your approached by various people who look up to you, to gangsters who want you to intentionally lose a fight.

In the end is this a great game? Maybe, for me anyway cause i love Full Motion Video games, whether they are good or bad. I like Prize Fighter but the fighting can be frustrating for some, especially if you don't add the arrows. Another issue is you need to power up your fighter before you can take on your next opponent. If you don't they will destroy you without questions. The cut scenes are good and the story is interesting which makes you want to fight and continue..

Sure it could have had better graphics, better playability, more fighters, but overall it's still good and if you like FMV games then give it a go.

I would rate this game a 7 out of 10.

Supreme Warrior (1994 Video Game)

Supreme Warrior tests out a variety of interesting concepts
6 March 2018
Supreme Warrior is a Full Motion Video game that was released by Digital Pictures responsible for other titles within the same genre, for CD based consoles ( 3DO, Sega CD, PC, etc ) that combines elements of combat and interactive film. Supreme Warrior managed to combine interactivity with full-motion video. Overall, it was an interesting concept. But, the technological capabilities at the time were still a bit primitive for the most part. Because of this, the graphics were good but not great. At the same time, it is understandable.

The game play is rather interesting in Supreme Warrior that it consists of digitized video with interactive elements. At many points during the video, you can unleash a punch, kick, or block. If your timing is correct, you inflict damage on your opponent. If you timing is off, your opponent hurts you.

This is a fighting game that is played in first-person view. I found the game play to be a little tricky, cause the game was set at a high difficulty level for some reason, and you need to be really patient. It takes some time getting used to, but if you have the patience to continue playing, Supreme Warrior is a good game that delivers what it promises, action and an interesting environment for those who like history because the game takes place in sixteenth century China, where the player character is tasked with protecting half of a magical mask. The wearer of this mask will be granted untold power. The villainous Fang Tu has the other half of the mask, and wants the player character's half.

I have seen and played just about every version from Sega CD, 32XCD, the 3DO, the PC, and the Apple Macintosh, and i found that the best response time when you would execute a move came from the Sega Cd and 32X Versions, while the 3DO had better graphics, the response time was slow for some reason. Never the less the game play was rather interesting on all the versions and also the footage differed too.

Supreme Warrior was filmed on Shaw Brothers Studio sets in Hong Kong and some major talent was brought in for the martial arts scenes such as Richard Norton and Vivian Wu. The story is pretty simple, something you would expect from your typical martial arts B movie.

Conclusion - Supreme Warrior is a game that tests out a variety of interesting concepts. In a sense, this could be considered a classic some day. If you want to play something original, and you enjoy Fmv games then, check out Supreme Warrior.

Stay Dead (2012 Video Game)

Just like in the good old days
6 March 2018
Remember when Full Motion Video games were popular?, like Supreme Warrior or Prize Fighter, from the late 90's I do, And If you're the kind of weirdo like me who likes FMV fighting games then this is for you.

The game play can be summed up to a bunch of Quick Time Events that pop up on top of the FMV Cinematics. If you succeed the QTEs then your character continues on with the story. If you fail with your decisions then your character gets hit or loses the fight, depending on what's happening in the movie. The game is made entirely of FMVs, just like in the good old days. I must admit that the FMV scenes are actually pretty well done.

Sure it could have done with more moves, more footage, better finishing scenes, etc etc, but overall great little game that i found entertaining and fun.

Conclusion - I recommend it to fighting game fans and to someone who's looking for something a little different.

Chuck Norris star's as The President's Man, a secret agent who does anything that the president needs done.He is the U.S. president's highly classified secret agent who must find a courageous replacement to take over his highly dangerous military missions. This is a good movie with a mix of action, drama and adventure throughout the film. There is also some good martial arts in the movie too.

If you are a fan of Chuck Norris you need to watch this! If you are not, then i believe you will still enjoy it! Overall, this is a great Chuck Norris film.

Highly recommended. 8 out of 10!
