Good but not great
22 February 2022
It was a nice thriller, but I wish it was more intricate and better. The cast was good, but I felt that the episodes could have been trimmed down to make it short.

Surprisingly Good
14 January 2022
I didn't expect to like it. The acting didn't seem on par, but the story developed at an interesting pace and was pretty shocking to see how gruesome it got, considering all of them were nearly underage. It was quite a wicked little movie!

Ben Affleck was the only thing likable
8 January 2022
This movie was just okay. It didn't have the level of adversity that felt needed to be overcome to warrant a movie. Though the movie was pleasing to watch; mostly due to Ben, it didn't do much to a viewer like me, and I didn't feel profoundly uplifted at the end. There were nice conversations and likable characters, but that was it. It was more of a " tender" movie that wasn't challenging enough.

True Story (III) (2021)

Some similarity with reality
25 December 2021
Kevin Hart's sex tape incident came to light while I was watching the show. How, maybe, his private life was violated and what pain he might have been through seemed to come across in parts, in his portrayal as a celebrity dealing with issues. It was cool to see Wesley Snipes as well. Both have endured public scrutiny, and both have had their shares of inner turmoil. I didn't really buy into the fact that Kid would remain so clueless and reckless in the initial episodes. Besides that, it was a good show and I liked Kevin Hart's and Wesley Snipes's performances.

It was weird
18 November 2021
I didn't like the stilted dialogues and expressionless faces and odd characters. No one seemed to do things that made sense. Certainly, the reveal was unexpected to me, and I was pleased to be surprised. That's about it.

After some point, just a pointless torture
31 October 2021
I know it is based off of a truly dreadful story, but I didn't really get much out of the movie, apart from faded out depiction of abuse. I didn't get a good understanding of why. There are crazy people and the aunt may have had a life filled with hate, especially, towards girls, after being left by her husband. I wish there was more that showed the actual family dynamics. Also, if the movie wanted to portray the brutality, it should have shown it explicitly (if that was the focus of the film), and not the routine treatment where the camera shies away.

Too dark- can't see much
27 October 2021
Why don't they spend money on lighting? Why everything is so dark, devoid of light. The show is trying too hard to be something epic, but it's not. Characters speak in foreboding sense, as if something calamitous is about to happen from the very first scene! It does look appealing at times, and I will give it a shot, but I wish it was better.

Poor Nick
21 October 2021
I must say that I didn't see it coming at all. It was a great series. I loved it, now that I saw the entire series. There are creepy people everywhere, and I would have loved to see more of a diabolical nature of the criminals that they truly were evil, and not just happen to go with the flow. It was great to see something different in the genre of thrillers.

Another 80s slasher
15 October 2021
If it's 80s slasher, you gotta watch it. Love those times. The movie doesn't cut any new ground, but you would be glad to have seen it. Some nice kills with entertaining. Not too shabby.

I love Hawaii
11 September 2021
It was interesting, accentuated by some nice acting and good cinematography. I enjoyed the show overall, not that it was the most amazing thing I have ever seen, but kept me intrigued enough to see what's going to happen next.

You have to watch it!
30 November 2020
I followed season 1, as it was being broadcasted on Cinemax. It is an amazing show with unique characterization, settings, action, et al. I finally binged watched the entire series, 4 in total, and I would say that, though it's a pretty solid show, with interesting cameos in season 3 and 4, overall, season 1 is the best.

Halloween spirit
16 October 2020
It was fun to watch, especially during the month of Halloween, and Adam Sandler's movies are always filled with wonderful cameos, doing crazy stuff. It wasn't very crass, and special mention goes out to all the sasy t-shirts!

Spectacular to watch
3 October 2020
The movie was really great to watch. Jamie Foxx gave an awesome performance, and JG Lewis was good too (though his accent seemed odd). The little girl was equally impressive. The whole movie had this kinetic energy that kept me engaged and entertained throughout its running time. Yes, there was not much of a plot and if you start analyzing, you will find a lot of faults, but as I said, it was visually enthralling.

The killings were gruesome, I'll give that.
6 September 2020
Not much of a plot. We have seen such edgy serial killer movies before a la Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but to include a boy into the proceedings was just way too much. It was cringeworthy and disturbing. The movie might have succeeded in pleasing its core audience.

Somewhere in the middle
6 September 2020
I don't know if it was intended to be a comedy or a serious slasher movie or both. The plot was somewhat interesting, but the execution was all over the place. Weird things just kept on happening and, I guess, we are supposed to not question anything. Just another Netflix movie that no one will remember.

A bad half an hr
27 August 2020
Another movie that I couldn't finish. The characterization wasn't good, and lacked cohesion. A bunch of aimless high schooler doing their thing. It was uninteresting.

It was cringeworthy
27 August 2020
The topics that everyone shudders from were thought to be joke worthy. It wasn't funny at all, and I had to stop the movie in-between. It was awful to see in general pleasing Alec Baldwin and Selma Hayak in such a horrible movie.

Sweet with likable characters
26 August 2020
The movie was nice to watch with quirky high school conversations and well choreographed dance sequences. It was not trying out to be a path breaking movie, but it succeeded in being charming.

Enjoyable
25 August 2020
This was an enjoyable family friendly movie. The kids were the main stars of the movie. I liked the puzzle solving aspect, coupled with some surprises along the way. It was better than Da Vinci code!

Not compelling enough
23 August 2020
The movie is a first time effort by all involved and, maybe, therefore needs to be lauded. However, the movie is saddled by so much of meandering and expository conversation that the excitement of watching something thrilling is lost. The movie feels more like an episode of twilight zone/ X files than a fully fleshed out movie (maybe that was the intention). Final thought: It's a waste of covid time.
