Brilliant for its genre!

Warning: Spoilers
I'm giving this 10 out of 10, because it achieves exactly what it sets out to do-- An over-the-top horror video game, come to life, on a low budget. I stumbled across this film on-demand. I wasn't sure at first, then got sucked into its wackiness. It is a combo of 'found footage', video game, and 'torture-porn-Fangoria-style' cinema. Now, if you don't like those references, then this film will be a one-star for you. If you like all of those references, this film is perfect. It even makes sense in its bizarre and ridiculous plot-- Frankenstein's grandson is helping in the war effort by animating soldiers with 'attachments'. Even his ultimate goal is inspiring-- To fuse half a brain of a fascist with the half-brain of a Communist so they can understand each other's positions, thus ending the war. LMFAO! Awesome! There are some long camera takes that are excellent. Kudos to Richard Raaphorst for getting this done. Obviously a labor of love. I can imagine his challenges for financing. "See, there are these Russian soldiers who want to infiltrate a hidden Nazi warehouse to capture Frankenstein to make him build a robot/human army." Lol...

Why only one star?
24 July 2014
TiVo and TCM have a window that pops up, giving this one star. Why? That's for BAD films. This is quaint and clever. Want to waste your time with a good old-fashioned 30's comedy of errors and other shenanigans? This is that film. Yep, a B-movie that holds its own. The character actors are all good, there are genuine laughs, and a (predictable) plot that holds it all together. Most of us have not seen Frank Morgan in anything other than 'Wizard of Oz'. He plays a similar- enough role here so that you'll feel at home. I have to say I am paying more attention to TCM the older I get, lol. The junk that they spew out at the multiplex just to fill it up is depressing. Let's all support the good old days of 1930's films. Enjoy!
