Stretched Like a rubber band/ or more than that
5 March 2022
Batman is a superhero film that comes with somany unnecessary scenes.

They could finish this film in 2 hours or less then it would be a master piece.

Film's Music have a similarly to michael giacchino's own work called War for the planet of the Apes , and some point it's irritating.

Matt Reeves want change batman image i think he done that Its the worst batman film i ever watched since a long time.

African Viking and same ending as Vikings Season 4a, 5a and 6a
28 February 2022
Netflix continuing it quest for ruining of greatest shows by taking over or offering spinoff's .

Vikings: Valhalla Also the same.

Black Vikings Never heard before on any history made a big presence through the show.

Also first season having same finale as Vikings Season 4a,5a and 6a where Good side loose and villain's became victorious.

Nothing new offered in this spin off but tring to ruin one great show made earlier.

22 March 2021
They cut/removed/reshoot this film ! unbelievable its a masterpiece on this circumstance (where super-hero's haven't any solo films to show their origin). well its four hours some scene felt unneeded but you don't feel that you waste your time . thumps up.

Just another investigation story
18 April 2020
We have seen sacred games it was pretty good. so I think the success of that Netflix show makes others to develop same type investigation stories.

if you check voot program listings there is many investigation Shows. and the trailer available so you can watch. and we can easily say it all are same thing maybe same story but different actors, different place and different circumstances

AsuR also one of that investigation story. but it explored Hindu mythology in a perfect way maybe that makes Asur a good show

but if you seen sacred games you feel this and that almost sharing same story idea

this show should end with season one. but it stretched out to the the second season and that makes watching season 1 a painful experience.

Much better than the Disney version, but it is strangely without soul,The fact that Serkis is even able to offer a challenge to the financial might of Disney, and come up trumps on occasions, shows that there may indeed be more than one lord of the jungle.

Comedy is serious business
5 September 2018
Comedy is serious business, they say. Rafi-MeCcartin duo should know as they have been part of many successful humor movies (Tenkasipattinam, for instance). Being successful is one thing, following that with another is totally different ---- and dare one say, difficult.

The double-directors' new venture Chathikatha Chanthu is hardly a rib-tickler. Far from it, it is a disjointed pastiche of sitcom and slapstick. The binding glue of a strong script is unfortunately missing.

Chanthu (Jayasurya), son of a maidservant at work in a big household, where he is lucky enough to get the attention of Thampuran (Janardhanan) who likes him and fosters him as his child. Not surprisingly, Thampuran's daughter Indira (Bhavana) dotes on him and expresses his love for Chanthu. Then again, not surprisingly, Chanthu does not want to let down Thampuran and keeps his love to himself. But Indira, like all film heroines, is steadfast and pesters Chanthu to love her. So to escape from her, Chanthu creates an alibi --- he says he is in love with another girl. Soon he sets out for Chennai in search of a job. But as it happens, he gets to meet the girl he has created out of his imagination --- Vasumathy (Navya Nair).

She also has a story to tell about her life. Chanthu meets Krishna (Vineeth) a dance master who introduces him to Ravikumar (Lal), a film director. Ravikumar makes a film based on the life of Vasumathy and it becomes a big hit. Their life changes, and so too the film as it peters down to a hurried hotchpotch of crime and horror. The denouement is all about how the pairs get united.

On the acting front, Jayasurya is honest and tries manfully in a heavy role. He is good. But alas, that is inadequate to carry off the film. Navya Nair is cute and her performance is also. Vineeth, in a small role, is impressive. The comedy track grates and the music (by Alex Paul) is just about average, Rafi-MeCartin, who has a flair for earthy comedy, is obviously not in their elements. They let the script flounder with some unimaginative handling.

16 July 2018
A glorified infomercial about the life of a Bollywood bad boy.The women in Sanju are as ornamental as their predecessors in Hirani's films...In its relentless quest to offer absolution, Sanju is no better or worse than many other biopics that have flooded Bollywood over the past few years. boring one from spilberg
16 July 2018
It is, despite Spielberg's claims, neither a purehearted popcorn flick nor a Paul Verhoevenesque subversion, but something uneasily in between, cowed by the idea of the fanboy demographic.

Chanthupottu (2005)

Chandupottu is a simple tale
8 December 2017
Chandupottu is a simple tale. It's about a boy who grows up in a small fishing village in the company of girls. He's more at ease with girls than boys. After an incident involving him and another kid, his dad (played by Lal) ends up jail for murder. Radha (krishnan) is brought up by his mother and grand mother and grows up as a joke in the society. He teaches folk dance for living and keeps the company of girls all the time.

He's particularly close with Malu (played by Gopika). Kumaran, a local loan shark too has an eye on her. Incidentally Kumaran is the son of the person whom Radha's father had murdered. After the jail sentence Radha's father returns and is horrified seeing his son's state.

Radha and Malu get closer and with help from rain god, take their friendship to next level. Kumaran itching for revenge of his father death plots with Malu's father (Rajan P Dev as astrologer) and blame the genderless Radha for the disappearance of fish from the sea. They beat up Radha and dump his body in the sea. Freddie (Biju Menon) rescues him and takes him to Goa, where he and his sister Rosie (Bhavana) help Radha. We don't want to reveal more.

We have to commend actor Dileep, director Lal Jose and writer Benny P Nayarambalam for making this movie with such a unique theme. For an actor who is trying to establish himself in macho roles (Runway, Lion etc), Dileep's audacity has to be appreciated for agreeing to do this role. He was able to maintain his feminine mannerisms till the last shot as well as portray this character convincingly.

Gopika did her part very well and Dileep and Gopika make a very good pair. Indrajeet, Lal, Rajan P Dev etc tried their best but their characters do not have much scope. There were a host of other characters, but none leaves an impression.

Dileep and Lal Jose have done many movies together and have an excellent rapport. In a movie where so many things could go wrong Lal Jose has managed to maintain tight control throughout. He ensures that his is not yet another mimicry movie. Benny P Nayarambalam has done a commendable job in his characterisation of Radha and he provides a engaging and witty narration. But in the second half when the scene changes to Goa the movie momentarily loses tempo.

Vidyasagar has provided excellent music to all Lal Jose films (Meesha Madhavan, Pattalam, Chandranudikkunna Dikkil) and this one is no different. We especially liked S Janaki singing Azhakkadalinte and Vineeth Srinivasan's Omanapuzha.

This is a decent movie, novel for it's theme and treatment

Aurangzeb (2013)
6/10
Police and Gundas watchable for Prithviraj
26 August 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Aurangzeb is primarily about inheritance of character from parent to child. And the opening underlines this theme with a quote from Roman poet Horace, 'Deep in the cavern of the infant's breast; the father's nature lurks, and lives anew.'

What lends its sentimentality a crooked twist is how its premise is relentlessly influenced by the cutthroat philosophy of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Director Atul Sabharwal tackles the conflicting interests of conscience and conditioning with his robustly executed first film for Yash Raj.

Against the relevant backdrop of land- grabbing in Gurgaon and its deep- rooted network within corporate sectors, political parties and corrupt law and order, Sabharwal weaves an old- fashioned yarn about family -- both close-knit and estranged.

On one hand there's a family of cops -- Ravikant (Rishi Kapoor), his nephew Arya (Prithviraj Sukumaran) and son Dev (Sikander Kher). The stern, resentful Arya models himself along the lines of the supremely assertive Ravikant as opposed to his long disgraced, defeated father (Anupam Kher).

Meanwhile, Yashwardhan (Jackie Shroff) is a successful tycoon running illegal industries, masked under the impression of his authorised businesses, assisted by the sharp Neena (Amrita Singh). He has given up on making sense of his brash son, Ajay (Arjun Kapoor), the proverbial cad whiling away his time partying with/beating up his annoyingly compliant girlfriend, Ritu (Sasheh Agha).

Light-eyed Agha, no matter how much (and frequently) she exposes, cannot distract the viewer from her serious lack of talent and feeble screen presence. Her so-called intense scenes with Kapoor are plain comical and completely dampen the screenplay. She fares better in the recording studio though with her spunky rendition of Barbaadiyan.

But this is only maybe five minutes of Aurangzeb, which starts off a tad synthetic with dialogues sounding like quotation books instead of conversation.

The real discord begins after Arya discovers Ajay's lookalike, Vishal (Kapoor) and plants him in Ajay's place to collect evidence against Yashwardhan in the backdrop of Gurgaon's glossy landscapes (with surreal shots of its bokeh-lit traffic by N Karthik Ganesh).

There's a dramatic twist here ( which I am obviously not going to reveal) that ensures Aurangzeb doesn't draw too many comparisons from the likes of The Departed, The Devil's Double or even Don. (Though there is moment that squeals Skyfall whereas the background score is reminiscent of The Dark Knight Rises.)

Deeply derivative of the traditional Hindi film narrative where blood-ties gain precedence over individual turbulence, Aurangzeb works even in its inept form. Because, one, Sabharwal constructs a compelling, intricate conspiracy of deceit and motive around predominantly grey characters, where chances are anyone can turn a volte face, for better or worse.

And because Aurangzeb's momentum is steady and swift, the loopholes are skilfully minimised even if only temporarily. So, sure, you do wonder about the loosely established relationships, convenient set-ups and undisclosed footage of significant reactions, but much later.

Interestingly, Aurangzeb doesn't demonstrate any depth to examine the impact of role-playing, and change in circumstances on Arjun Kapoor's psyche but both -- Prithviraj (by way of voice-over that offers a constant peek into his thoughts) and Rishi Kapoor (his candid conversation with Deepti Naval showing his innermost anxieties to his frighteningly supportive partner) -- emerge as the more fleshed-out characters of this stylish drama.

This brings us to the second and most stealing aspect of Aurangzeb -- its casting (Shanoo Sharma). Prithviraj Sukumaran's clean-cut persona stands out in a role that demands subtle cynicism, restrained force, suppressed emotionality and dry humour.

Rishi Kapoor is at the top of his game and inspires awe through the stunning curve he draws within the story. To rave any more could lead to revelations that are best enjoyed on one's own.

The other Kapoor, Arjun shows remarkable poise and volume in his second film and first double role in the company of stalwarts. Though it could have been a far better written part, especially Ajay, he consciously maintains a distinction between the twain.

It's also great to see Jackie Shroff render the proceedings his characteristic charisma, warmth and grit in a somewhat neglected role.

None of the senior girls -- Amrita Singh, Deepti Naval and Tanvi Azmi -- are moulded in pure convention and make a statement with their fiercely kohl-ed eyes and sturdy point of views. Sadly, in the case of their junior colleagues, Agha doesn't have the potential while Swara Bhaskar isn't given enough scope to bite. Arjun Kapoor performance is very poor, he's best in yrf ways only.

Whether all kids inherit their parents' moral temperament I do not know but where Bollywood is concerned, its conditioning on filmmakers is undeniable. And going by what the inspired but engaging Aurangzeb has to offer, it's not such a bad thing.its watchable for Prithviraj
