Interesting Pinoy horror movie with a never-before tackled topic.
29 December 2016
It's a daring move for Director Matti to create a horror film about religion, especially the Philippines is known for very religious. The movie centers about what is the true meaning of good and evil and if these problems can be saved by the faith from God or not. This movie might be controversial by some, but Matti succeeds on tackling issues in religion not just from the Philippines, but also worldwide to the extent. Those issues are handled in a subtle manner but also those are the issues that might occur today.

The scene-stealer of this film, Rhed Bustamante, nails her performance as a creepy child faith healer of some sorts. She knows how to shock the audience with her acting skills. I wouldn't be surprised if she win Best Actress in this year's MMFF, in which this movie is also a part of.

While there are some issues and plot-holes that should be fixed, this movie is perfect for people who wanted to be scared using the dark reality of the human mind. If this movie gets recognized worldwide, I'll be happy about it. If you are into dark, subtle, and creepy horror movies, don't miss this out.

So that's how the person with its mind reached the 100% mark goes

Warning: Spoilers
*Minor Spoiler Alert* This movie is fun and addicting. What I liked about this movie is that it's unpredictable and it's fresh. But I also have a few minor problems:

1. We never know if Lucy is really a foreign-exchange student in Taiwan or just an average party girl at the beginning of the movie. It was never really implied. 2. Before the hospital scene, why does she shot a guy who doesn't speak English, even though at the hospital the Chinese words seems to understand her? I will forgive you if she's a foreign-exchange student (See No.1) but no. That part was never explained at all. 3.I still don't understand how CHP4 was created. The explanation is a bit messy for me. 4. Lack of character development. Really, the movie's so short. It's only approximately 90 minutes. 5. The ending. What the heck?

All in all, flaws aside, this a good movie of how the human brain does when it reached 100%. Yes, some of them are unrealistic, but the director of this movie says that the "10% myth" is only a theory and the movie shows how a person could be at 100%. And now, my only wish (And hope) is that Mr. Besson will make a sequel for this very kick-ass movie. Hopefully more character development at the sequel. (And hopefully see more Lucy, Del Rio, and Prof. Norman)
