Soul Sends A Deep Down Heartfelt Message
21 February 2021
Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Angela Bassett and Phylicia Rashad together with Kemp Powers have truly set Soul and Disney apart with their diverse animated blockbuster featuring strong lead African American performers. Soul is most certainly the best animated feature film of 2020. It deserves Academy Awards.

Special
20 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The Nutcracker was short, but that was good, because after a nice relaxing movie you could go straight to lunch or do whatever your family needs to. I thought that Clara was brave and was committed to what she wanted. Mother Ginger didn't actually look scary in person, so I thought she was sweet. My hypothesis was correct. As soon as I saw Sugar Plum, after Clara got the key, I knew something was wrong. And like I said before, my hypothesis was better than I thought.

Emotional Diverse Comedy That Packs A Swearing Punch
20 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This film had so much potential for a family focused audience that was slighted heavily by the vulgar language in the compelling screenplay. The film was truly funny, but it it was inappropriate for children who should have been welcomed by producer Mark Wahlberg. The film is not only inappropriate for children, but it failed to entertain Christians, because of the vulgar language. The story was so meaningful, but the heavy language was a major disappointment. I made the mistake of sharing this film with my kids and they were exposed to in an obviously offensive way.

A Remarkable Tale
14 March 2018
Black Panther is written like a Shakespearean saga. The vivid articulate characters and story evoke the classics in a revolutionary new way. Not only is the character development celestial, but the authenticity in costume design, linguistics and artistry are just as intricate as Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The depiction of Africa is a beautiful reminder of the great civilizations of the continent. Black Panther is a must see for people from all walks of life. This film deserves to win multiple Academy Awards and sequels.

Sandy Wexler (2017)

Sandy Wexler is suprisingly entertaining
4 February 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Sandy Wexler is one of the most underrated comedies of 2017. The diverse cast of Grammy Award winning musicians and award winning actors is delightful. Adam Sandler's creativity is undeniable in this fun loving story. Jennifer Hudson is playful and whimsical opposite Sandler in their daring interracial relationship. Sandler takes risks that very few screenwriters are willing to take in this Conservative era of race baiting. Sandy Wexler could certainly have been a major box office success, and it's a streaming treasure. It's highly recommended to Jennifer Hudson fans and Kevin James fans alike. There are so many stars in this comedic amalgam who are very rarely seen together.

LBJ (2016)

Where is MLK In LBJ?
4 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I expected a great deal more from LBJ. The film was a major disappointment for me because Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was completely omitted from the story. He was seemingly deleted from the pages of history where he earned his place through the sacrifice of his life for civil rights. The LBJ dialogue was filled with tasteless offensive jokes and it ruined the historic effect of the film. Overall, the story was one of the best written and produced on LBJ and JFK, but it failed to capitalize on the triumphs of President Johnson.

This is a powerful unexpected story of triumph.
1 October 2016
Warning: Spoilers
The film is one of the first to offer a glimpse into the lives of young Ugandans breaking through the confines of subsistence. The cinematography and vivid imagery deliver a realistic depiction of life in East Africa. Phiona Mutesi, played by Madina Nalwanga begins her journey with little more than an interest and desire to learn to play the game of chess. She discovers the true potential of her intellect when her chess coach, Robert Katende changes her life forever. Phiona's mother, Nakku Harriet played by Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o holds on tightly as her daughter lingers courageously away from the frantic market of maize selling that sustains their family. Phiona is victorious in her development, yet she realizes her limitations when the most promising opportunities are given to her. Despite her many disadvantages, Phiona is crowned queen of the impoverished Katwe community, overcoming her greatest fears and winning the hearts of inspired fans across the globe. 'Queen of Kawte' is a must see for everyone who has ever challenged the power of the human imagination.
