Needed Now More Than Ever!
23 June 2022
A group of people sit around the dinner table and discuss topics which are vitally important in todays fractured world. It is comforting that there are people out there that sacrifice their time to make the world a better place. Really enjoyed it!

The Two Popes (2019)

Best Movie of the Year!
24 December 2019
Let me start by saying that if you are a Catholic conservative (Opus Dei, etc.) you will hate this movie. This movie is about the soul, about compassion and love, and about the exact change the Catholic church needed at that moment in history by electing Pope Francis. Pope Francis is the only Pope I have seen that exudes such genuine love and compassion. I don't think that the film was anti-Pope Benedict. It also shows Pope Benedict in a positive way and as a kind man, but under different circumstances. That said, this film was heart-warming and uplifting. It also delves into one of the most barbaric regimes in Argentina's history...Fascist General Jorge Vidala. Hundreds of thousand of people who were perceived as liberal, educated, and anti-government were killed or disappeared. Pope Francis was criticized for not doing more to protect his colleagues from this barbaric government. Many of his colleagues were killed or disappeared. Pope Francis, still to this day, has great guilt and anguish by his non-action. I'm sure Francis (Father Jorge Mario Bergoglio) was afraid of getting involved or intervening because of his fear of being killed or disappearing. That said, I loved this movie!
