Mixed review but overall a success
26 April 2014
I agree for the most of with most of the reviewers. I am very skeptical about low budget movies but I do appreciate small film makers trying to make something. Overall, I think this movie was a success for the resources it had available.

For example, the script had a smart premise. I was actually wanting to find out more. And I think the actors did a good job for the project present. I was more intrigued with Sears's performance, but I did feel the characters themselves were poorly written and totally predictable which made them annoying. But the actors themselves did a good job but needed better direction. The music was great, even though it was too similar to Battlestar Galactica.

Several problems that showed that this was a low budget film:

The computer graphics looked low budget. The Aliens's costumes made me laugh There were way too many scenes of walking through the forest. If the editor took out 10 minutes of that footage, it would have been a much better film overall.

I would be intrigued if this film was remade with a bigger budget and more less stereotypical characters.

Trying to be smart but not
26 April 2014
I admire Lena Durham for all that she did with this program and her attempt to make something different, but it doesn't mean she deserves and HBO show about it. This is a copy of Sex and the City, but with more younger, annoying people. Durham's writing also reeks of Juno and after one time seeing that movie, that was enough. How many Hollywood movies are going to continue have this sort of writing? Self deprecation, gratuitous sex and a bad premise make this show a waste. There is nothing appealing about any of Durham's characters at all. They are annoying and ridiculous. The actors are annoying as well. HBO, please make something original and appealing!

Visually Spectacular, story was weak and predictable
26 April 2014
This movie was so moving and stimulating, it kept me for hours. Koodos to the production staff, music, sound, editing, special effects for this project. They were the real heroes to this. They made a film that really moved people and captivated the audience from start to finish. I can appreciate the research that the film did to make it authentic and real. The script was the weakest part of the project. I know this is a way to get an audience, but next time it use something less predictable. However, minus the script, this movie was a success. I did feel like George Clooney's presence was a waste. How many times do we have to see him? I would say the same about Bullock, but she was believable.

A documentary well done
26 April 2014
If you are going to do a documentary, this is a great one to use as a template. It was very informative and really gave accurate and insightful information. It was creative and showed heart. It gave the audience a satisfaction, even though it was not known what the result was. First of all, using personal stories was the key. This gave the audience something to root for. The families in Scotland really had a voice and were able to be part of something that meant something. I can appreciate the crew for what they did with this project. They helped those who were being exploited. This documentary was so powerful, it changed history and presently, Trump lost this battle and the right people one. Congrats to this documentary for meaning something!

Morris as absent as Rumsfeld
26 April 2014
This documentary was just as gratuitous and ridiculous as our government. Morris thought he was smart and clever with this documentary but really answered no questions and made himself look as silly and absent as any politician. His tactics were narcissistic and self righteous and he fits right in with any ambitious capitalist trying to "up" someone, making him seem more intelligent, when he really showed he is lacking in film making and story telling. All Morris did was show commonalities with himself and Rumsfeld. If he wants to create a documentary, maybe he should take interviewing classes instead of trying to massage his own ego.

Script full of prejudice. The film was just bad
26 April 2014
This movie was so ridiculous and it was offensive.

First off, I'm sick of Hollywood movies using derogatory comments against Christians. If you really listen to this script, you hear negative things against other religions which sickens me. Hollywood is the worst in hypocrisy and manipulates other religions to make money.

But above the prejudice that this film has, it is just a terrible piece of work.

The writer and director need review and moral judgement when they accept trash like this. To make a buck, they will show 24 yo being teenagers who use violence and ridiculous language. You call this creative? I call is selling out.
