Pontypool (2008)
Creative and captivating
This is a movie that takes the zombie/rage-virus/similar genre and twists it just enough that it becomes a unique experience.
This is not a "see hordes of zombies" like a lot of movies in this genre, but almost only takes place in one building. Sounds boring? Well, you've got a great actor in Stephen McHattie who plays a radio host and uses his amazing voice to carry you through this movie.
This movie makes it work so well and you feel like you're a part of the action - even if you don't actually see it.
Does it have gore? Yes
Does it have an interesting plot? Yes
Does it have originality? Yes
It is very similar to 2009s Dead Air, but is superior to it in almost every sense. I say this even if I am a great fan of Bill Mosely in Dead Air, but Pontypool just delivers everything better.
The Church (2018)
Very Preaching
I looked forward to this movie as I really like Bill Mosely - and he didn't disappoint, but I found the movie to be very preaching.
I had hoped that it would tried to develop more of a creative plot, but throughout the entire movie, I was thinking that this came out of the Mid-west.
I kept hoping that there would be a twist, but it kept going in the same direction, and I was disappointed that the movie failed to deliver.
