Thank the oil gods for men

This show has a simple premise: women are stupid and slutty, men know everything. It also appears to have been financed by oil companies.

When the mother of a newborn loses her husband to a tragic accident, she immediately finds a man to take care of her and explain how money and bills work. When the wife is angry, she must be on her period. When a woman wants something from a man, offer sexual favors or cook him food.

Then you have the fact that Billy Bob, a great actor, is 70, married to a 45 year old and no matter how many nails a hammered into his leg or cigarettes he smokes, is fit as a fiddle and doesn't need a doctor. His son also seems to have inherited these superhuman genes.

This show had promise but is let down by poor writing and characters from 1965. If this is truly a reflection of Texas society in 2025, it helps to explain why Trump is president again.

If my daughters ever act the way the women do on this show, I have failed as a father.

Echo (2023–2024)

Marvel Studios: Legends - Echo...

This is the first marvel show/movie that I have given up on and not finished. It felt like a Legends episode stretched into 5 episodes or a subplot to the original Daredevil series. I don't understand why they would waste the money and talent on such a pointless story. After the first 2 episode of only 5, we were retold the story that was told in Hawkeye, with a bit of filler, then shown that she doesn't like Kingpin, which was a given based on the fact she shot him in the head. All pointless and failed to provide any compelling reason to care about Maya and what she might do next. There was also a lot of unnecessary dialogue for a show relying on sign language...

Aussie Gold

This satirical and witty take on the week's news provides a fresh perspective that delivers in spades. As an Aussie expat, I have relied on this weekly digest to provide a balanced mix of news and comedy from a team that appreciates the subtilties of the current world.

Charlie Pickering and the show holds itself against the likes of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and provides a unique Australian take on the news events of the world.

The writing is excellent, the guests are interesting and funny and the content is spot on. Do yourself a favour a check this show out!

Ted's Notebook (2012– )

Stupendous!

Ted's Notebook is considered by many to be the most comprehensive commentary of Formula One, direct from the race circuits. Kravitz provides exclusive behind the scenes access to the Paddock and conducts interviews with drivers and team members as part of his extensive summaries of qualifying and race day. He also utilizes his extensive technical knowledge to explain new rules and developments in Formula One. For me, his unique style of reporting is the highlight of every race weekend.

The Loudest Voice (2019)

Impressive

It's very easy to go into this show with your own personal agenda, especially if you are American. However, the purpose of television dramas, or television news, for that matter, is not to pander to agendas, but to inform people of the facts and the history that created those facts. Fact 1: Fox News was only created in 1995 but is one of the most well-known news networks globally and arguably a cultural phenomenon. Fact 2: The team that created Fox News were intelligent business people with an incredible cultural awareness. Fact 3: The Audience of Fox News is predominantly conservative. Fact 4: Not everyone who works for fox, both behind and in front of the camera are conservative. These facts alone make for some compelling viewing. Add to that a stellar cast and writers and you get The Loudest Voice. Leave your agendas at the door and get an education on American News Media.

Mission: Impossible III (2006)

Great Intro and Body, Weak Conclusion

The film was what you'd expect, action action action. This was great! All ran smoothly with character development and more focus on the organisation. The action was non-stop, maintaining suspense and excitement that made for a great viewing experience. This film had all the characteristics of a great action movie, until the last ten minutes! It was as if the writers had a block and decided to finish the film with classical repercussions. This was a surprising shock as the script was very solid and elevated this film above the previous Mission Impossible films. This sucked, lost sense of reality with over-used clichés that really let down a great action film.
