A theater release ARG
18 February 2022
This movie is reminiscent of an internet Augmented (or Alternate) Reality Game. The acting is workable and the atmosphere is creepy, but it leaves far too much to be interpreted by the viewer. I enjoy a film that doesn't feel a need to explain everything, but this one is filled with what seem to be intentional loose and/or dead ends. It seems lazy, not edgy.

There are plenty of well written movies that are poorly executed,I and this is the opposite, it is a poorly written movie that was well executed.

TL;DR: Good atmosphere, good idea, bad writing.

Good marketing of a terrible movie
21 August 2019
So many films today are poorly marketed tripe that should not have been made. This one was well marketed, but otherwise it belongs on the same junk heap. A tiny bit of research could have prevented some of the cringe (do these simpletons know anything about the molly market? No, no they do not) but no amount of research could fix the acting, directing or writing. I have never been more aware of the fact that I was watching a movie.

This abomination should be unmade.

The least fun Archer to date
30 May 2019
There is still hope for this season, but less than there was before it started. No real humor so far, just silliness.

Brilliant, funny, and just a little dark
10 May 2019
Ricky Gervais has done it again. This has a different feel than most of his other masterpieces, but it is no less funny. How long has it been since a television show made you both laugh and cry at the same time? This show is about loss, it is about sadness and existential depression, yet you feel refreshed by it. The premise is simple and straightforward, but it is so well written and delivered that it feels complex. I just wish it had been longer, and cannot wait to see more.

Clever, witty and irreverent humor
9 May 2019
What a fun, fresh show! In keeping with recent trends toward darker comedy, What We Do In The Shadows delivers more fun than scare. There is no horror element, just a wonderfully talented cast going through their lives as vampires living in the suburbs of Staten Island.

Dull and uninspired
8 May 2019
I enjoy slow burn horror, but this wasn't that. The 6th Friend is a by-the-books paint by number cardboard cutout of a horror movie, and that seems almost intentional. If you have ever seen a horror movie, then you have seen this one. And you can rest assured that what you have already seen was better. It takes dedication and genuine effort to stay awake for the duration of this movie, and sleep is much more entertaining.
