I adore Amélie. There's something so wonderful and hopeful about this film. I generally don't like romance, but this is a true exception. I have seen this more times than I know. Amélie is wonderful and quirky. All of the characters have their own fascinating charm. The colour scheme is lovely. I am a huge reader and subtitles make a film all the more interactive and fun for me - give me something to do. There are so many hilarious scenes and so many sad scenes. You really go through a gamete of emotions with this film. The soundtrack is in my incredibly biased opinion, the best I've ever heard. I listen to it regularly. It makes me feel sad and it makes me feel alive. I adore this more than I can ever hope to explain. This movie gets all the stars.
