School of Suck

I know that everyone always complains about "kids shows" like this and yes they tend to be awful with awful acting and awful writing and awful jokes...

But even in a sea of mediocrity the TV version of "School of Rock" somehow manages to stand out as particularly awful.

The acting is atrocious. The guy they got to mimic Jack Black is particularly pathetic, and there's not a single talented cast member to be found among all of the children. Shouldn't at least one cast member be funny or likable?

The music is also incredibly pathetic. It's called "School of ROCK" yet it is full of muzak. Just terrible.

And lay off the laugh track Nickelodeon, you're not fooling anyone into laughing at your awful shows. It's just so bloody annoying.

One of only two shows I've ever forbidden people from watching in my home, and the only one nobody objected to since nobody wants to watch this dreck.

The President Show (2017–2018)

Bad Impression + Bad Jokes = Bad Show
25 October 2017
Regardless of your politics this is just a bad show. If you want to see a better Trump comedy check out You Got Trumped or the cartoons on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The usually great Johnny Depp is surprisingly bad but he as Trump in The Art of the Deal comedy short is still funny, much better than this.

The President Show's Trump impersonator isn't the worst I've ever seen but his impression is bad enough that it really takes the audience out of the show. It's jarring how off the impression is. The voice is bad and it's surprising for a TV show with makeup people how little he looks like the real President Trump.

Also the writing is very bad. The jokes are terrible. So bad they made me groan, and predictable too. It's a shame because the premise is good and this could have been a very funny show.

Note to the network, if your Trump impersonator doesn't look like him and can't do a great impression he should at least be funny. This guy is neither.

Hated It

This show suffered from a lot of the same problems of other Canadian drama TV series.

The acting was really bad. I don't care if a show has stars or anything like that but acting ability is a must and none of the characters in this show interested me or were particularly well acted. A lot of that has to do with the awful writing though.

The writing was some of the worst I've seen in a show. I only lasted a few episodes expecting and hoping it would get better but it never did. Even if the actors were great there's not much they could have done with the hammy story lines and awful, unbelievable dialogue they were given in this show.

Happy it got canceled.

Deserves More Love

The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers is truly an amazing film and the middle part of the sweeping Lord of the Rings saga of films by Peter Jackson.

It is obviously very highly rated and critically acclaimed but for whatever reason it is not as loved as the first and third parts of the Lord of the Rings franchise. The first part obviously sets everything up and begins the journey and part three is all about the climax and resolution with some obviously really huge stuff going on, but part two has just as much action.

I'd rank them: Part 3, then Part 2, then Part 1, in order of enjoyment and how much action there was in each film.

My only downside for part two is that it ends kind of abruptly in a weird place, it would have been better to have the story go a bit longer in part two instead of saving the spider etc and so much more for part three.
