The Last of Us: Endure and Survive (2023)
Spellbindingly Terrifying!!!
In my opinion, episodes 3 & 5 are so far my favourites! 👏 👍 👏
Both guest stars, Keivonn Woodard (Sam) & Lamar Johnson (Henry), performed phenomenally! Considering that Lamar & Keivonn were only on for about 1.5 episodes and that they only have a limited amount of acting experience, compared to their other co-stars on the show, they managed to capture the attention and hearts of mine, and other viewers alike. To me, that's a very impressive & remarkable feat! Overall, I thought ALL the cast members conducted their respective performances with such brilliant aplomb!
Best of all, the rapid-fire Clickers, especially the magnificently large Bloater, were so spellbindingly terrifying, I felt my heart palpitating so loudly; not negatively but rather, in an enjoyable experience! 👏 👍 👏
The Last of Us: Please Hold to My Hand (2023)
Anna Torv & Melanie Lynskey should have switched roles
I like Melanie Lynskey in the other movies she starred in. Unfortunately, Melanie didn't feel convincing & threatening enough to be a vindictive rebel leader. IMO, if someone else like Anna Torv (as Tess) switched roles with Melanie Lynskey, it probably would have been a better fit for Anna Torv to be playing as the rebel leader and Melanie playing as Tess; it feels a lot more convincing. However, Anna was great as Tess too because she was able to convey a soft & tough exterior -- the qualities to pull-off the character of Tess!
I think it's Melanie's soft-spoken voice & the fact that I've seen her acted in more timid-like characters, which is the reason why I think she failed to convince me that she was right for the role as a rebel leader. Maybe I need to watch more future TLOU episodes for Melanie Lynskey to prove that she has the rebelliousness & leadership qualities that are required to play the role of a vindictive rebel leader, to get me to change my mind.
Besides the miscasting, I have enjoyed all the episodes thus far!
The Last of Us: Long, Long Time (2023)
Beautiful Love Story -- TLOU's Best Episode of this Season!
I'd consider this to be TLOU's best episode, thus far, because the love story within this episode deeply moved me. I even liked how we were introduced & familiarized to 2 new characters, Bill & Frank.
Although Bill & Frank met unexpectedly, from a hostile situation, their instant chemistry & love connection eventually blossomed into a very deep & unbreakable romantic bond. I, especially, love how Bill & Frank never wavered from the immense love they had for each other, even though they stumbled on occasions from the imperfections that every relationships experience. I, most of all, loved how they stayed & grew old together, through sickness & until they both succumbed to their last waking breath...
Spoiler Alert (2022)
Beautiful love story...
I had to watch this film after seeing the trailer, and I'm glad I watched it b/c I really enjoyed it. I, especially, liked the fact that even though they were together for so long, the showrunner didn't hide the struggles that every relationships go through, which is no relationship is perfect! Every relationships have their ups & downs, good days and bad. But no matter what the circumstances may be, what matters most is that they stuck together through to the end and accepted each other's flaws & mistakes.
Even though they're complete opposites, it's not always about the exteriority that mattered, it was that they loved each other's inner being and withholding their commitment through sickness & in health till death parted them. It's obvious that they're love is true b/c they were able to survive the hardest of all hardships that a relationship can endure, especially in the darkest of days, like facing death.
Like I stated before, this is a beautiful love story and I enjoyed it very much!
Willow (2022)
The story & characters were annoying!
The showrunners should have left the original on its own because making this sequel is uncalled for.
The story made no sense. The script felt like it was written by a juvenile. Plus, the acting was truly terrible. Kit & mainly Elora were so annoying that I couldn't stop rolling my eyes. Willow was right, Elora is "the worst apprentice ever!" Plus, her acting was the worst one from them all!
The directors probably did their best to make something out of a story that was all over the place. The showrunners probably thought that if they added lots of CGIs & special effects that the viewers would be overjoyed with everything else.
Blonde (2022)
"Big Mistake, Huge!"
"Big Mistake, Huge!"
Even though I wanted to shut down this movie after watching the first 10-15mins of it, I forced myself to finish it, in the hopes that the storyline will improve by having some uplifting moments or interesting developments. Regrettably, this movie started off depressing and it continued its depressing & dull streak throughout the entire movie. I'm so annoyed because I wasted 3 hours of my time which I'll never get back!
Just as a note of warning... For anyone who finds the first 15-30 minutes of 'Blonde' to be dull and boring, then don't be surprised if you fall asleep or even get annoyed for wasted time. Because if you're waiting for any interesting developments, sadly, your wait will never get satisfied. So if you want to turn this movie off rather than finishing it, then I salute you for making the best decision! It means you love yourself enough to avoid torture -- Blonde is a torturous movie to watch, especially in its entirety!
The Broken Hearts Gallery (2020)
Change the lead actress to one who doesn't annoy or overact
Lucy Gulliver should NOT be Geraldine Viswanathan. Lucy is too annoying and immature for Dacre Montgomery's character, Nick, who is charming and charismatic, unlike Lucy who is uptight and frustrating to watch and most of all, she's just weird! I'm sorry but I don't think Geraldine Viswanathan is meant for a lead role!
I didn't feel any genuine chemistry or any chemistry at all with the 2 lead characters. Their association or interaction felt forced and unlikely to happen because they are completely polar opposite. That's why it was hard for me to believe that they'd even connect or fall in love for that matter. However, opposites do attract and have fallen in love and lasted an endless love.
Anyways, the story had some good ideas or potential to be a good movie but Lucy's character spoiled the movie for me to enjoy it.
I rated this movie a 2/10 only because of the likable characters, but without them, I'd probably rate this movie a 1 or preferably a zero.
Outer Banks (2020)
Series may NOT LAST after annoying Season 2!
In my generous opinion, Season 1 was pretty decent and I was even excited to watch Season 2, once it premiered on July 30th. However, after watching the first few episodes of Season 2, I became so irritated and disappointed of its storytelling and characters that I seriously debated on whether to continue watching till the last episode. It truly felt like the show and Netflix was insulting the intelligence of its audience.
So I need to know... Why did the characters become so absurdly irritating? What did the show have to gain from the lead characters repeatedly making dreadful choices which always lead them to ridiculously annoying outcomes? Just because they're supposed "teenagers", the showrunners shouldn't have permitted the writers to degrade the thinking process and decision-making of their lead characters to the point of being imbecilic.
In summary, I've concluded that one of the main reasons why the show's viewership didn't enjoy Season 2 as much as 1 is due to the downfall and annoyance that its characters have sadly become which resulted in an unrealistic Season. So if this show even gets renewed for another Season and continues with its Season 2's character development, then I strongly believe this show will unfortunately NOT last!
Love Is Blind (2020)
No Asians again!?!
Why is there only one Asian in this show, (Vanessa Lachey)? There's so many attractive Asians, yet they're either excluded in these types of shows or they're down-played to have less air time, immediately removed, or the unattractive ones are purposely chosen. {HINT: Asians lead top 5 in Miss Universe every year so that is adequately evident that Asians are beautiful inside & out!}
It's 2020 already! Being that there is a huge Asian population occupying this world & most importantly, these types of shows commonly have a huge audience base, wake up, Executives!
