Forever (2014)
The MC couldn't die but sadly the series did - and quick!
It's a very good series. The downside in all of these series that deal with immortality is that after just a couple centuries, the people whine about immortality. Especially the last couple centuries. If the series were taking place in say 3300 and it is now currently 3100, yeah. That would suck. Not a lot changed. Still in the Bronze Age. However, the last couple hundred years has had AMAZING amounts of changes. Plus, you're not stuck in one place like you were 'in the old days'. Imagine being from the 1800's and all of the huge changes going on then - and then getting to see the echoes of the same changes happening AGAIN. Example: Subways, etc.
Skyline (2010)
Time spent that I'll never get back
I'm wondering how this movie could have made back double the budget. Apparently, they spent $10m and made over $20m. This movie has all of the clichés of a zombie movie. The reluctant hero that doesn't have a weapon. The black guy who has a weapon but dies first. The girlfriend whose boyfriend just doesn't get her - and she's stressed out and pregnant. The big breasted bimbo who may or may not have a heart of gold. The older guy who has the keys - in a literal sense. After reading some of the other movie reviews of this, I'm wondering if America is setting the bar lower these days for what is 'a good film'? It continues on it's zombie movie clichés by having the people separated and alone, struggling for freedom, blah, blah, blah. Avoid this film.
Medieval Fight Book (2010)
For historians only
This is an explanation of some of the things within Hans Talhoffer's fifteenth century combat manual. There are some interesting things within the book itself such as the way they had men combat against women and the first possible diving suit. Overall, this will be of primary interest only to people with a keen interest in fifteenth century fighting styles. The show itself is only forty five minutes long and can't go into a lot of detail but it still seems to drag a bit. It is obvious that the people who are discussing the techniques and inventions discussed within the book are very excited about them but that excitement didn't really transfer to me as the viewer. Overall, I gave it a five out of ten stars. For seeing what effect that period of weapons had, I enjoyed the show "Mail Call" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0337552/ more.
