Dr. Sturgis introduces George to the idea of having the twins participate in a twin study. (The study is for both fraternal and identical twins. As fraternal twins Seldon and Missy qualify.). The study requires transporting the kids to Houston over the course of the study, but George thinks the stipend and expenses paid will further his goals, so he avidly supports including the twins.
Mary is not vested in seeing her children in the study. She is unhappy with much of it.
The study was designed to examine relationships between nurture, nature, and cognitive and other abilities. Missy's abilities become featured.
