Kate (2021)
graphic and blast action led by a fearless woman in Tokyo
Surprisingly good and very well executed action movie, although the main critiques refer to this as another disappointing female version of several popular "assassin's revenge" productions and their commonly rudimentary depth regarding background drama and poor acting. Sadly, most viewers and reviewers dedicate their time to repeat sexist speeches and to highlight the fails in the storyline. Fight scenes are extreme realistic despite the predictable script: Kate (the anti-hero and the movie itself) has an intense and brutal approach that only slows down towards her ultimate end. Extra points for Mary Elizabeth Winstead's performance in the leading role, the soundtrack which makes you live a true japanese pop/rock experience, and for the make-up and editing teams's great achievements that capture our attention and excitement throughout the whole film.
